I bought my son a box of 2013 Topps Strata from Kmart yesterday for $11.99. We opened the box and immediately noticed that one pack was HUGE. He grabbed it and tore it opened. I figured it would be a clear cut signature or something. Instead he hit this ...

1:30,700 packs! I've looked a few of these up and most are plain signatures, some have the "Ho ho ho" and some have a gold star, but I have yet to see one with the "ho ho ho" inscription and a gold Christmas tree. There's also a three color "relic" in the Shadowbox but it's hard to see in the scan.

I know these types of cards aren't everyone's cup[ of tea but for an 11 year old kid something like this is an amazing hit, and I thought I'd share.

Woah, my son would go crazy if he pulled that card. (He named his fish Santa.) anyways, sweet hit! Last one sold for $135 which is shocking to me

That's a crazy pull. I even didn't know that there are these Santa cards in Topps Strata boxes. Must be a great hit for your son. Congratulations. :)!

i didn't call him out. Just the page I saw it on showed hobby only and didn't realize there was a santa claus shadowbox in retail as there isn't a regular one in retail. Sorry OP!

If you are planning on selling, I suggest waiting until the holiday season obviously (post black Friday). Think of how many collectors would love to give little "timmy" or "Susie" this card as a Christmas present! They could then use it as a bargaining chip with their wife to pick up more boxes and or that one high end card they always wanted because they made their kids Christmas so special!

Great retail hit!
