I could use some help.
Here is the "typical" description template I'm thinking of using...
2013 14 Panini Crusade Kobe Bryant Purple and Gold Prizm Refractor 23 49 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/321506278896?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649)
1. Should my scan be bigger with a zoom in thing?
2. Do you guys recommend anything in regards to international shipping other than the Global Shipping Program? Would any other option be worth it?
3. Is it true that all fixed priced listings for cards is .30 cents each in insertion fees?
4. Is it over $200 or $250 that I need to use Signature Confirmation instead of Delivery Confirmation?
5. When it's all said and done, what is the approximate % ebay and paypal get off your sale? 20%?
6. I've never really reported someone for not paying, is it pretty easy? What happens?
7. Got any other tips?
Lots of questions, but you guys are the best resource I know!
Thanks for reading and I look forward to hear your insight, ebay gurus!

1. Should my scan be bigger with a zoom in thing?
All images that are over a certain pixel size are automatically given the zoom feature. If the photo is too small Ebay usually will not allow it.
2. Do you guys recommend anything in regards to international shipping other than the Global Shipping Program? Would any other option be worth it?
Does not matter what you think in the next month or so all sellers are going to be forced into the system. It does have its advantages though and can make international shipping safer for sellers.
3. Is it true that all fixed priced listings for cards is .30 cents each in insertion fees?
Depends on your store level
4. Is it over $200 or $250 that I need to use Signature Confirmation instead of Delivery Confirmation?
It went to 750 last year. Though I would still do it on anything over 250.
5. When it's all said and done, what is the approximate % ebay and paypal get off your sale? 20%?
Its closer to 15%.
6. I've never really reported someone for not paying, is it pretty easy? What happens?
Just use the automated system and you won't even have to raise a finger.
7. Got any other tips?
Don't sell anything you cannot afford to lose.

1.
your pic is clear but looks cropped, i cannot see the edges or corners which would raise a red flag for me especially on a $100 card
2.
i have thousands of cards sold in the past year and maybe 3-4 were international, most of what i sell is under $5 but anything higher end i wouldn't want the risk of shipping overseas a lot of bad things can happen
3.
all bn's are .30, i will just pay .60 so it is listed until sold
5.
ebay is 10% fee and paypal is 3% + .30 transaction fee, ebay also fees shipping which moves the total closer to 15%, on cheaper items i factor paypal fees into my shipping cost or it's not worth the time to list them, it is ez to add the shipping fee to your shipping total, it is normally 10% of your shipping price, i pay $1.93 for shipping but charge $2.32
6.
if u report any1 for anything short of murder to ebay they won't care
7.
don't be afraid to try new things and do your homework on best match searches and how they work

if u report any1 for anything short of murder to ebay they won't care
You get your fees refunded, feedback blocked and if other sellers have their preferences set you make it harder for them to bid on other items by reporting non-payers and giving them strikes.

and then they just make a new account and start all over and buy from u again, if they are blocked they will only be blocked on that account not any future accounts, of all the non paying bidders i've had only 1 or 2 got the boot and that was because they bought a dozen items @ once and didn't pay for them

So what if they are blocked and create another id to get around that block Ebay will suspend them for that, it is considered a severe Ebay violation to do so. Its not hard to get that info that buries them and it takes about a 5 minute phone call.
Its not about them getting the boot Ebay rarely boots them but there is a block that will block them if you choose use it.

A couple of points:
* The pics on eBay are optimized at 1600 pixels wide, which would mean scanning a standard-sized card at 600 DPI.
* If you have an eBay store, then your will get 150 or more free listings per month and those listings can be your choice of 30-day Fixed Price or 7 day auctions.
* Whether you have an eBay store or not, you now have the option of an unsold Fixed Price listing being relisted up to 3 times for no additional charge. So, this effectively makes them 120 day listings, or until sold. This feature is available whether you pay 30 cents for the listing or 20 cents or 0 cents.
* eBay recently made a change where sellers can't get free fixed price listings in certain categories (including Sports Cards) unless they have an eBay store. They still have periodic specials where people can list free auctions, sometimes in quantity. Right now there's some sort of "List Up To 5,000 Items Free" sale going on. If you have a store, these listings could be 120-day Fixed Price. List them now and they wouldn't expire until after Christmas. Without a store, they would have to be 7 day auctions and you'd have to wait for another sale to relist the unsold items.
* Without an eBay store, you can get up to 100 free auctions per month, plus whatever specials they throw your way.

.
u are giving ebay way too much credit for caring which i assure u they do not, and even if they did which they do not, it's not that hard to change your name or address and sign up again
they want to max out profits and last i checked npb's $ is still green, @ least when they choose to send it

Don't even bother. You'll get the same results if you just bang your head against the wall. He has never had a bad experience on eBay (according to his other posts). Any claims a buyer opens is b/c the seller didn't do something they should have. He doesn't get it, you can tell by his lack of understanding of basic punctuation too.

i have had plenty of bad experiences on ebay that i have put on here more than once but it's good to know that u and shreve have it all figured out and there's not 1 shady seller on ebay
i would be quite shocked if u took higher level english or journalism courses in college than me, punctuation really bores me to death and i find it unnecessary when communicating or attempting to communicate my opinions online

1. Should my scan be bigger with a zoom in thing?
No....Bigger isn't better, remember most people use cell phones to make ebay purchases. You pretty much want the picture to describe the item instead of the description.
2. Do you guys recommend anything in regards to international shipping other than the Global Shipping Program? Would any other option be worth it?
Its a give & take. Make sure you let international buyers know you are using it before they buy, it'll save you returns.
3. Is it true that all fixed priced listings for cards is .30 cents each in insertion fees?
Depends on the store that you have. I only list during listing specials really. Saves a great deal of money.
4. Is it over $200 or $250 that I need to use Signature Confirmation instead of Delivery Confirmation?
I'm pretty sure its over $500.00.
5. When it's all said and done, what is the approximate % ebay and paypal get off your sale? 20%?
that is about right...
6. I've never really reported someone for not paying, is it pretty easy? What happens?
Unpaid item assitance...than block after the case closes. Also following blowout to see habitual non-payers really helps.
7. Got any other tips?
Customer service goes a long way. I'd also suggest 1 day shipping handling time. That has really helped my store.
Accuracy of listings & item shipped is important. Don't want to risk any returns with the new ebay setup. If an item is under NM-MT condition I usually won't list it unless its over 20 years old.
Lots of questions, but you guys are the best resource I know!
Thanks for reading and I look forward to hear your insight, ebay gurus!

Don't listen to this.

You will soon be opted in to GSP automatically.

Seems like it's 250 for paypal; 750 for ebay.
5. When it's all said and done, what is the approximate % ebay and paypal get off your sale? 20%?
that is about right...
10% ebay FVF without store, then I believe payapl takes 2.3% + $0.30
