So with all the Chrome about to be busted, does that make it a prime year to build a set of refractors? I imagine a set of orange wouldn't be terribly difficult.
A complete set of blue or purple refractors would be very decent, IMO.

Do collectors ever go after these sets? I know one guy on here was going after sepia last year, not sure how far he got.

I completed my Sepia set form 2013, and will go after the same set this year.

Yes tons of people put together color refractor sets. There are a few on here still working on red and gold sets from 2012 that are close to completion. I will probably do a blue or black set.

I don't think the more common refractor sets would be that tough at all, you could probably get in on product release and complete most of it the first week if not the whole thing. the low numbered stuff is probably pretty tricky though.

Blue is a very good option...

but keep it off the internet till you get to at least 75%

Cause once people are following you, prices will be rediculous.

Had that happen to me 3-4 times & I no longer set collect cause of that.

Almost did a White refractor set of 2007 Topps Chrome got to 89% and had all the big cards....people put the ones I needed at double beckett value....no go.

I tried the 2008 UD Materpeices Jersey card set, got down to 2 left. Anyone who had those two put them for triple ebay value on ebay cause they were hoping I'd try to buy it straight out completing the set.

Just ordered my case with my LCS, might do the regular refractor set depending on the break, but it will be too expensive for the other stuff for me - would love to help everyone else with the other color I get. Its going to be a nice Thanksgiving for sure.

The last two years I have built the following sets and will probably do the same this year:

Base with all the insert sub sets
Refractor
Xfractor
Orange Refractor
Camo Refractor

Last year I was also working on the 1000 yard club autos, only 2 I need that I know for sure were made are Peterson and Crabtree.
