It was the catch caught ’round the world. Odell Beckham Jr.’s reality-defying one-handed touchdown grab on Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys — while being interfered with, falling backward and seemingly using the matrix to come down in bounds — was quite possibly the greatest catch the world has ever seen.
The catch — and the world’s immediate reaction to it — created nothing less than a social media frenzy and turned the bionic Beckham into an international sensation almost instantly. The fact that Beckham Jr.’s (http://paniniamerica.wordpress.com/2014/10/12/the-panini-america-nflpa-rookie-premiere-recall-giants-wr-odell-beckham-jr/) New York Giants wound up losing the game, 28-24, did nothing to dampen a buzz that seemed to grow into the wee hours of Monday morning.

This wasn’t the Immaculate Reception, but make no mistake about it: This was an immaculate reception. What it lacked in big-game import or Super Bowl-clinching momentum, it more than made up for with an impossible degree of difficulty and superhuman athleticism.
It was the subject of 360-degree coverage (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/25/sports/football/catch-by-giants-odell-beckham-jr-made-for-a-great-picture.html?hpw&rref=sports&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=well-region&region=bottom-well&WT.nav=bottom-well&_r=1) from The New York Times; ESPN’s John Clayton ranks it the fourth-greatest catch of all time (http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11930247/new-york-giants-wide-receiver-odell-beckham-jr-inspires-john-clayton-rank-top-five-catches-nfl-history). For its part, Twitter fell head-over-heels in love with Beckham Jr.’s feat. Some examples . . .

Trust us, there were millions of additional reactions to Beckham Jr.’s one-handed heroics. Truth be told, all of us here at Panini America were mesmerized by the catch, too. In fact, we were so taken aback by a catch that defied reality that we decided to honor it . . . virtually.
At the top of this post, and again below, we’ve modified the Immaculate Moments insert from Panini America’s upcoming 2014 Immaculate Football to create two different virtual cards that pay tribute to Beckham’s remember-where-you-were-when touchdown grab.
Enjoy.

This ranks in my top 2 best catches I have ever seen in sports. The best catch of all time,to me at least, would be Jim Edmonds leaping dive facing the wall back in the day. I still don't have any idea how he managed to catch that.

Edit- For those that never got a chance to see this. It is difficult to put into words how amazing this catch was.

David Tyree's catch in the Super Bowl was pretty amazing. I know it wasn't a TD catch, but it pretty much helped NY win that Championship.

What about Mike Trout skyhigh leap catching a homer at Camden Yards? That was damn impressive!

So they took a better picture, slightly changed the shade and added their panini logos to it?

Willie Mays.........

Meh. I have a great appreciation for the history of baseball. I consider Willie Mays to be the greatest all around baseball player in the history of the game. That being said, I don't think his catch holds up over time. Yes he ran a lonngggg way to get it. Yes he managed to pivot on a dime and throw a dart after the catch. But I still think Edmonds catch defies the laws of physics and find that more amazing then a guy covering a long distance and not getting dirty.

There is no other catch that ranks in significance like that one and it's my own personal favorite of all time for teams other then the Redskins. Beckhams catch was incredible but they lost that game regardless, give me the guy who's catch won them a Superbowl over that

For my own favorite all time catch for me and Redskins moment happened in Superbowl 22 in the 1st quarter of that game. Situation was dire. Our QB was knocked out of the game, and came back in with the Broncos led by John Elway leading 10 to 0. It was looking like another disappointment for Redskins nation who we last saw lose Superbowl 18 when on a long 3rd down and 16 yards to go play happened. The QB gets pressure and he throws a sideline pass to Monk that is a fantastic catch that goes for 40 yards. That was the spark that led Doug Williams that day to his historic 5 TD passes in the 2nd quarter and the Redskins second Superbowl win. My favorite catch of all time personally

From that angel, the card picture comes from a screen capture of the TV clip, not a real photo taken.

So this card isn't actually going to be in the product, but rather it is simply a picture of a card that could be, but won't actually be, in the product. Awesome.

It was a very nice catch but with those gloves they wear I could catch better than 90% of the receivers in the league...... and then run very slowly and get crushed by a Safety.

best catch ever is bare hands on frozen ball....i'd love to see him do that at Lambeau without gloves then I 'd give him mad props.... but since he didn't I will say his body control to come down inbounds was spectacular the catch not as much.

It's about as real as the jerseys they put into the product.

That Jim Edmonds catch was okay. If he wasn't wearing a glove, like they did 100 years ago, I'd give him mad props.

What was crazy , was he only used 3 fingers to catch it.

Panini referring to it as an "immaculate reception" is just more evidence that they don't know the sports they represent. They couldn't even be original with the name.

There's only one Immaculate Reception...

Give me a 3 finger hail marry td catch over anything ever done before.

There's a huge difference between one hand grabbing a 15 or 20 yard pass vs. a 46 yarder (timing/trajectory/etc)...not even taking into consideration he only used his fingertips.
