So I snagged a box of this on Ye Ol' Black Friday as it seemed like a cool looking set although a number of the sketches I've seen haven't been up my alley. When I got it it was box 0004/3000. Made me glad it wasn't 0001/3000, although I did strongly consider seeing if it might command a premium on the market. After about an hour I decided that was no good, that I'd always wonder what was inside.

The first pack with a sketch I opened had a Batman sketch on the back so I immediately knew what I had and was glad I gambled on opening it. There were five sketch cards in a penny sleeve and that was all that was in the pack... all, as though that wasn't enough. HA! removed the sleeve from the pack and turned it over revealing the Hall Two-Face. Felt the next pack in the row, felt the same from the edges, as did the next pack. So I figured I hit the ten buybacks and a puzzle from Epic Battles. Nope, fifteen buybacks and then the Joey Mason from Epic Battles was in the next pack after the 'hot packs'. The sketches were random, not segregated as in my scans.

The last card in the second scan is the metal card I hit from the box. Pretty awesome set.

Still not figured out IDs and characters on all of them, a number of which are unsigned, but it was a pretty EPIC box to bust, that's for sure! First Hall I've ever pulled, second Amy Clark in as many weeks, Awesome Joker, Crazy Locoduck Mxyzptlk, Menacing Calzada Professor Pyg and evil Swanger Black Mask - what are you doing with that Black and Decker?

Charles Hall - Two-Face ** Autumn Rain Turkel - Batgirl ** Puis Calzada - Professor Pyg
Mark Marvida - Joker ** Stephanie Swanger - Black Mask ** Lawrence Snelly- The Creeper
Brian Kong - Red Hood ** Jason Roussel - Green Lantern Hal Jordan ** Joey Mason - The Ray (52)

Amy Clark - Action Comics Superman (52) ** Elvis Moura - Superman ** Marcelo Ferreira - Power Girl
Michael Duron - Mr. Mxyzptlk ** Tom Valente - Supergirl ** Mary Bellamy - Abby Arcane
Raven - MJ San Juan

Seriously, me neither!

Aside from the monster box o' sketches this has to be my favorite Crypto DC offering from their last few. Base set was great looking and the insert sets were fantastic in my opinion. Variations collectors could chase, or not - I'll probably work on a couple. Very limited, numbered boxes which collectors tend to appreciate. Redemptions are back to art, and published at that. I think it's a great effort over all.

Thanks, Amber... or should I say Captain ID!

Maybe George will wander through with some artist IDs for the unsigned ones.

Thanks everyone, it was easily some of the most fun I've ever had breaking a box... and unlike an awesome redemption this was instant gratification... or like I referred to it to one person, instant collection! Filled a lot of holes in my Batman's Rogue Gallery collection, that's for sure.
