In January of 2013 I pulled from a case of 2012 Prime Cuts a Ken Griffey Jr. Timeline Stats Booklet Auto /25. I waited about a year and a half with no card then finally requested a replacement in June of 2014. I was told I'd have a replacement in 4-6 weeks, completely forgot about it, then when I realized I didn't have anything yet I requested a replacement again last week and was assured it would be "of equal value".

I just got an email that they shipped me this: 2012 National Treasures Mariano Rivera Signatures Jumbo Die-Cut #'d 21/25. So is that equal value? I know I'd definitely rather have the Griffey Jr.

Definitely not.

Depends on if that Mariano Rivera contains a jumbo patch or just a plain swatch. I'm assuming it is a relic because Jumbo is in the title but if not then I'd say you might be getting screwed.

Crap, that's sort of what I figured. I guess I'll reserve judgment until it arrives. I think this is the card below...

I would def go with the Rivera. NT is a nicer card, on card auto, cooler jersey swatch. You can pick up a Griffey Panini auto for a lot less than what the Rivera's are priced at. For example:

That is actually a nice looking card and since it is National Treasures it holds more long term value. I now think it's a fair replacement.

I got the Rivera card in the mail today. It is indeed the same as the card in the ebay link above. Very nice card, I'd still much rather have the Griffey booklet but oh well.

Incidentally, Panini sent the Rivera 2 day mail with signature confirmation. It came wrapped in a big box that was much too large for any single card. My mind raced...could they have felt bad about making me wait two years for the Griffey that I would never get and sent me something extra? Maybe they were just in the Christmas spirit? Alas, no such luck. The oversized box contained only a bubble mailer and the Rivera.
