Brock Lesnar will make his next title defense against Cain Velasquez at UFC 121.

UFC president Dana White confirmed with MMA Fighting Friday night that the heavyweight title fight will take place at the yet-to-be officially announced event, scheduled for Oct. 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Lesnar, 5-1, is coming off a riveting second-round submission win over Shane Carwin at UFC 116 last weekend in Las Vegas. Prior to the win, he had been on the sidelines due to a battle with diverticulitis.

Meanwhile, Velasquez most recently knocked out Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 110 in Australia this past February. The American Kickboxing Academy member is a perfect 8-0 in his MMA career

Cain by KO if they stay on their feet, Lesnar by stoppage if it goes to the ground or submission.

I think Cain has better chance than Carwin to beat Lesnar. Cain biggest knock was his punching power, but he proved people wrong by being the first to officially KO Big NOG, not TKO as Mir did. He will KO Lesnar I think easily as his boxing is sick and very accurate. All he needs to do to stop the shoot is work on the flying knee, that will make lesnar think twice if he is not unconscious. Should be a good fight regardless of who takes it though. Cannot wait!!!

If it is kept standing Cain will knock him out easily, yes I said that and stand by it, if it goes to the ground I think lesnar has the advantage for a possible stoppage or submission due to his size, not his skill although Cain is a BJJ purple belt so you never know. Chansen you think Lesnar will win if they standup??? Lesnar's standup is not good not that I need to state the obvious anymore than I already have. Everyone saw how fast Lesnar went to the mat after a couple minor shots from Carwin, his chin will not last if Cain connects, watch and see.

Dude I will take what your smoking. First of all Cain is a lot smaller than Carwin. He doesn't punch as hard as Carwin. His boxing is no more technical than Carwin's. The only thing I will give you is he is fast. So is Lesnar for his size. He will dwarf Velasquez in the ring by at least 40 pounds. He is a tough dude with some ever growing skills but he is just not man enough to stop Lesnar.
