What a shame he was a hell of a coach. I blame the gm for not getting the talent he needed

What a roller coaster it has been.
Is anyone suprised this happened?
Woody should have canned him long ago.

I think it's for the best for the Jets. I do think they didn't always give him the players he needed, but he was too defensive minded, in an offensive league. Probably best for everyone.
He either needs to go be a DC somewhere. Or take over for a team, and get a very good OC to handle that side of the ball

Just in time to come aboard as the Pats' defensive consultant for the playoff run.

damn good HC imo, given fairly crap talent on the offensive side (or none at all, really)

LOL ok Chief, the Niners need an offensive minded coach, something Ryan is absolutely not.
If anywhere, people are saying Atlanta.

Hell of a defensive coach, but he needs a smart OC with him to be a head coach. The guy seems like a players coach and would be a heck of a lot of fun to play for, but he needs someone who can run the offense.

Yep.
I don't think you'll find many people that don't like Rex Ryan.
But the simple fact is that it was time to part ways. Ryan either needs to be a top flight DC or if he wants to be a HC he needs to go somewhere that will invest in a top flight OC.

I personally wouldn't mind him coming to the Falcons. He'll land on his feet somewhere, he's a good coach.

I agree with most on the thread, I think Rex will land somewhere, whether as a HC or DC. I can't say we all didn't see it coming. This was the year for his team to show up for him and save his job.

I guess that last game was too little too late. Geno and Decker tore the Dolphins a new one. If they add another decent wide receiver I think they could have a solid offense next season.
Fire Dean Pees, Ryan to Baltimore? (I can dream) :(

If you thought the Jets were miserable before.....
It just got a whole lot miserable let lol.
No one else thinks he will end up in Chicago? His Dad coached the Bears D for years and Chicago needs someone to fix their D fast. I'd be shocked if the Bears dont make a play for him now that Trestman is out.

Rex Ryan and Jay Cutler would be my favorite thing to watch next season.

Buddy didn't leave Chicago on good terms, he's not a completely loved figure at Halas Hall...

Rex Ryan is a terrible Head Coach. I can't believe I am the only person who seems to realize this.

NEVER happen.......there's a better chance that someone else hires him for a couple months to help figure out the Patriot's since he has shown that he can slow down the offense.

My dry sarcasm foils me yet again.
