Fred Jackson on Kyle Orton retiring: “I can’t say it’s a setback but I can’t say that it helps us."

Screw you Kyle Orton. You come back for no reason other than a few bucks, help out the dumpster fire that Buffalo would have been with Manuel, and cost Cleveland a Top 10 pick.

Kyle Orton being respectable for one more year, when the Browns own that pick, is so Cleveland it hurts.

That quote pretty much sums up Orton's career in a nutshell.

Underrated QB, one of the greats of the decade. We will miss you Kyle and your bizarre bowl cut.

You clearly didn't watch many Bills games. Kyle Orton was complete garbage in almost every game. The offense was dragged kicking and screaming to victory by the defense. If Buffalo had a respectable quarterback, they'd be an easy team. Kyle Orton was only marginally better than EJ, to the point where the Bills would have likely still been 7-9 or 8-8 without him.

He was light years better than EJ. I watched plenty. If that's your definition of marginal then we might as well not discuss. You're winning nothing with Manuel back there.

@ByTimGraham: Guess who has the highest career passer rating in Bills history. Jim Kelly? Drew Bledsoe? Nope, it's Kyle Orton.

I love the bitterness in this post. Well done! :)!

Kyle Orton cost us the chance to draft another Justin Gilbert or Barkevious Mingo. That just can't be allowed.

He'll play for the Jets next year, and the Dolphins the next. Pats will win the AFC East in both.

Hoyer will go to Buffalo and will hurt even more next year when we are stuck watching Johnny trying to play football.

If Johnny James LeBron Wahoo is still on the Browns next year...hell, next week...Cleveland needs to fire the guy who is in charge of firing the guy who is in charge of firing players.

I can't believe they would keep him after the stunt he pulled. Well...actually I can believe it...it's the Browns after all...

I will miss listening to the Orton Magic Theme song before every Bills game to get me fired up.

First winning season in 10 years. A step in the right direction.

For a while Rob Johnson had that record, so it means nothing. Orton made a couple of really nice deep passes that EJ probably couldn't do, sure. But the majority of Orton's offense consisted of waiting WAY too long in the pocket to make his reads before eventually checking down, and then stalling and becoming completely inept in the red zone. Pretty sure EJ can do that too!

I watched every Bills game and I can confirm Orton was far better than Manuel. Orton might take too long to make his reads sometimes but at least he could make them. Manuel was clueless. Manuel couldn't even make check down throws because his accuracy was so bad. At least this year Buffalo can't piss away a first round pick on a quarterback that should go in the middle/late rounds.

Umm OP, there is already a post about this. Why didn't you just bump that one (from last year)?

He got replaced by Tebow and the Broncos, somehow, did better?!

In my defense, I tried to find it but after 6 pages of Odell Beckham Jr. threads, I gave up.

And he will be back under center for the Bears once they dump Cutler. I heard the pot market in chicago dipped 5% ever since Orton left... He is good for the local economy!

Didn't he get the Bears to the Superbowl, only to have Rex Grossman fudge things up against the Colts? I will gladly take him, drunk, stoned, half dead, over Cutler any day.

Close, it dipped when Sam Hurd got arrested.
