After seeing The Interview and seeing the magnetic case used to contain the poison I was wondering about other instances of cards appearing in pop culture (perhaps more explicitly than just a magnetic). What are your favorite instances of baseball cards on the big screen or in any other form of media you've seen?

One movie that comes to mind is Cop Out with Bruce Willis and Tracey Morgan. It's about a stolen 1952 Andy Pafko card.

There is an episode of Family Matters where Urlkel has two 52 topps Mantles. He gives one of them to some R&B singer in a trade for him singing to Laura....Johnny Gill I think. They show the cards at a distance and they actually do look like 52 Topps Mantles.
There's an episode of Modern Family where Phil does a Craigslist meetup with a guy for a DiMaggio autographed card. He ends up milking $50 more out of him and Phil ruins the card by smashing it in his hand when Manny tazes him.

It was Tweener, he stole a collection that had a Wagner in it that he didn't know about. He thought he just had some cheap cards, and when the cops searched his house over something else they found it.

I wish Always Sunny in Phili did a sports cards reference. I know they had an episode where they kept talking about Schmidt one episode, another episode about the Philly Eagles, and even Ryan Howard and Chase Utley were on the show.

I love that episode.. Doesn't Steve sell Marcy's Barbie to buy some of the cards then they need to give away the cards to get it back? Also, I'm pretty sure they were using 1987 Topps cards and just saying old time Cubs players.

Although not baseball, the movie Garden State refers to 91 Topps Desert Storm cards. One of the main characters friends insists that those are 'his future' and they'll be worth 'thousands' in twenty years.

I thought for sure this would be one of the first references mentioned. Classic episode - the first appearance of Comic Book Guy
"Show me the money kid, because if you ain't got it, I ain't gettin' up."
"All I wanted was the card of Carl Yastrzemski with the big sideburns!!!"
