Who you would say was the worst team in the NFL for the year 2014?

Tampa Bay, their record says so

They beat the Steelers and the Redskins. But that would not make you say they are better than either team?

Record says TB, but they have some promising talent.

The Bears severely underperformed, so they're my pick.

The Titans.

I think that Tampa Bay has some good pieces in place. I can't say the same about Tennessee.

Agreed. My vote would also go to Tennessee. Although several teams have many holes to fill, Tennessee looks to have holes in a lot of very key areas.

Means nothing. The Cowboys beat the Colts and Seattle. Are they better?? If so why aren't they still playing. The Jets beat the Patriots. Are they better?? Doubt it. One game doesn't make a season be it a good season or a bad one.

Anywho....worst team, probably TB.

The Jets didn't beat the Patriots...the Jets did beat the Steelers though.

I watched all of the bucs games this year. They got blown out twice, but could easily have won 6 or 7 of their games. They simply found ways to lose. They had no offensive coordinator the entire year and Lovie didn't motivate at all. We have good talent but our leadership sucks.

The Raiders, two out of their three wins came against teams that played Seattle the previous week. 10 straight teams have lost their games after playing Seattle. You're welcome Oakland.

They definitely aren't better than the Steelers, they are a better team/organization in general. The Redskins are not good right now either, but they have better pieces overall than TB (except WR core, TB is better there imo)

The Bucs because they have a ______ coach. You have a much better QB in Mike Glennon (who was a FG away or stop from beating the Saints away [when they were still good]) but you play some ______.

Bucs suck.

The only person who think Mike Glennon is worth anything is someone who invested in him.

the dallas cowboys, they cheated to win any games they won.

I think the Titans.

Jags have some solid pieces to build around, as does TB. Oakland also looks like they are turning things around and just a few pieces away from being relevant.

Titans just can't seem to hit on a QB in the draft, and it keeps causing that team to stay in neutral.

I think the Raiders were really close to worst if they weren't already. If they dont pick up a decent WR in the draft then Carr is pretty much useless himself

I am in this camp, Tampa had weapons and gave several teams fights this year, as the injuries racked up for the Titans, they got progressively worse and more pathetic. Their offense was dreadful most of the year, their QB situation is poor and their Defense should've been much better than what they showed.

I am happy to see that the Jaguars really started to show some real ability towards the end of the season. That team could be back in contention in a couple years.

As a tampa fan I would have to say its my team...They have no proven QB and the defense couldn't stop a high school team. I am hopeful that they land Marcus M. and he will have 2 big WR to throw to in VJax and Mike Evans and if we can land a decent running back that would get us started.

you'd better hope they don't take Mariota. He did NOT look good against OSU, and competition only gets tougher from here on out for him.

I'd have to go with the Titans. Lots of holes and don't seem to have any rising stars that I see having a huge breakout season next year.

This is a tough call because you could say the same about Jameis after the shackling they took from Oregon.

Truth is, I think Mariota will be okay if he goes to the right team, but I am not sure what team that is outside of Philly.

Bucs. They have a surprising mid of the pack talent but just absolutely sucked. Was a tough team to watch

I sort of like Mariota in KC with their backs. Probably a better idea on Madden than real life, but they aren't throwing the ball down the field currently.

On topic, the Giants were terrible until Beckham came along. That is a team right there on the border of blow it up/sign some big free agents

As a Tampa fan, this was an extremely pathetic season.

Tennessee may not have anything going for them in the future, but the question was which team was the worst in 2014. And that was definitely Tampa. Losing games they shouldn't have, and somehow actually competing in ones they probably should have been blown out in, it was such an annoying season to follow.
Doug Martin? What a downfall.
Two good WRs but a QB controversy (which probably shouldn't even have been but for a stupid commitment by Lovie).
A D that at times couldn't stop a snail.

I feel better about the future for Tampa, but they were the worst team in 2014. Not just based on record.

Rofl, seatlle "fans"(I use the " because Im not sure you can really be a fan when you just started watching the team in the last 2 years)...but I digress, you got a superbowl, your team is relavant for the first time in its history, so why so desperate to take credit for other teams wins?

i just think the Zone Read scheme in the NFL is on the way out as teams build to stop it, and QBs that rely on that in college take a beating in the Pros if they don't have other skills.

While I hate Jameis, I think he's got prototypical build despite him being a mental child. I don't think either of them go big without the perfect scheme, team, and coaching.

Tennessee is god awful, and have very few players with long term appeal and potential.

This is true. I think they had 4th quarter leads in something like 7 or 8 games this year and managed to blow them.

While record wise they were the worst I think they are also the closest to turning it around. They definitely have more elite level players than any of the other bottom tier teams.

As a Jags fan, I am more than happy to agree with a lot of you and say the Titans were, by almost any measure, the worst team in 2014.

I'm not as down on Mettenburger as some of you are. Thought he played pretty well for having dog poop around him.

Also, Lovie sucks big time and Glennon is way better than McCown. TB better wake up quick and get Lovie out of there.

Surprise there has been no mention of the Washington Redskins.

That's because it's not the worst team, but the most dysfunctional team in the NFL.
