*insert comment about how many superstar players does it take for KD to win a Championship?*

Oh wait, this isn't a Lebron thread. Sorry.

Steven Adams has shown a lot in his second year. While they might be able to land Lopez cheap, I give this rumor zero credibility if it's from Chris Broussard.

I give it zero credibility because I feel BObcats incapable of making a good trade

I don't know if I'd call Lopez a superstar kind of player, but he is definitely talented. I'd hope the Nets could get more than just Stephenson for Lopez and Jack. I don't think they need to just dump Lopez due to his contract.

I want Lance in Brooklyn, but we definitely need a PG back in the deal. Reggie Jackson maybe?

JR Smith was the other day so I figured Brook probably made the cut as well.

People were calling JR Smith a superstar? All I ever saw was people making fun of how bad of a chucker he can be.

Sounds like Perkins may have to go to Brooklyn as well.

Awesome. /sarcasm

Trade would have to be Perkins and Grant Jarret to Brooklyn.

Jack would be in a second trade involving one of: Gerald Henderson (unlikely), a 2nd round draft pick, or possibly someone making under 3.3m (Gary Neal, Brian Roberts).

This assumes Broussard isn't making things up, which is a giant leap of faith.

Aldridge mentioned it to. Doesn't sound like it's close to being done though. Either way it sounds like Brook is moving.

From what I've read, the main parts of the trade are Jack, Lopez, Lance and Lamb. Obviously other parts would need to go. Perk for starters.

I hope this does not happen, Steven Adams needs time not less time to progress =(.

From what I've read, the main parts of the trade are Jack, Lopez, Lance and Lamb. Obviously other parts would need to go. Perk for starters.

The first trade would involve those guys: Lopez to OKC, Lamb to CHA, Perkins and Stephenson to BRK, with Jerrett going to either BRK or CHA to make the money work for OKC.

The salary difference of Stephenson vs Lamb will create a trade exemption, which can be used to acquire Jack in a second trade, which is done for CBA and cap management reasons. Second trade would either involve Henderson if CHA want to maintain the Stephenson exemption; or for a minor player like Neal or Roberts who could fill some PG minutes and be acquired by BRK within their Kirilenko exemption; or for a minor asset like a 2nd round pick or the rights to some 30 year old Euro who never came over if CHA want to use the full Stephenson exemption. The scenarios that don't involve Henderson would allow Brooklyn to create a new exemption on Jacks salary.

The interesting thing about this trade is that it would put OKC further into the luxury tax, which is probably why it's a completely false rumor.

It wasn't long ago, Lopez was in the discussion of best centers in the league. I hate to see the west keep getting all the talent, but it is what it is.

i feel bad for brook but he's done. clearly a great player when he's healthy but its time to build with plumlee and if the thunder think lopez is the answer they are mistaken... he won't play enough for chemistry... altho they may give up hardly anything to get him. lance in BK would be huge if he could avoid off court issues.

Brook Lopez is just a name

He's a very solid 15 & 6 guy - but also a guy that makes 15 million a year. He's also a guy that has played 125 out of a possible 275 games over the last 4 years (45%)

If OKC thinks he brings enough to the table to pay his contract? More power to them. He's a good player. He's also a player that is always injured and makes way too much money.

And yes just to be clear, if this was Cleveland, I'd be all about bringing in a guy like Lopez (obviously all hypothetical before Mozgov) - because it's not my money and it's purely just a luxury tax issue. Same as it will be in OKC.

That's why I don't think it's a bad idea just one that you can easily debate.

He's a shadow of himself after the past few injuries. It's a shame because he's the last home grown buy from NJ, but it's the best move for both parties

I didn't realize Jack had a trade restriction.

I don't know what to think. When they traded for Waiters I assumed they'd move Reggie + another piece to get under the tax. Woj and Aldridge have both been on this though. Woj is usually right.

I think OKC needs another piece after finally deciding not to be the cheapest team in the league.

I like Lopez, but people are right hes made of duct tape and bubble gum.

Nets hafta start gutting this roster, (yay Celtics picks)

I cant believe I am saying this, but I think losing Perkins presence in the locker room might hurt OKC

Would be big for OKC, it's true that they're lacking a post threat. Nice fit with Ibaka who can stretch and block.

I wonder if JJ's next, Brooklyn might clean house by the deadline.
