This is airing tomorrow night. Does Kobe announce his retirement? Was this made before his shoulder injury? I wish more players would do interviews like this. More in depth and personal.

He had that one a few years ago. It was an interesting interview anyway. Imagine that he does announce his retirement.

Could just be trying to hype his Showtime special that's coming on later this month. I don't think he's going to announce his retirement tomorrow. It's coming soon though. It's only 50/50 that he plays next year in my opinion.

So, North Korea is going to ban this interview because Rodman does not like it?

I really enjoyed this special. It's nice to see Kobe in this type of atmosphere. I hope he returns and then can finish his career on his own terms. Much respect to an accomplished career.

I missed it. I don't have NBA TV right now and I'm sad. I hope I can see it somehow.

He will come back for at least one more game, like Charles did, retiring on his own terms.
But he knows his time in the game is nearly up.

For those who watched it, what did the mamba say or talk about? Any hints on his future? I'm really curious....

retirement lol. he will retire when he cant stand up or walk anymore. anything before that, it wont happen. this may almost happen though in a season or two. hopefully next year he is injury free and plays a few more years.

Watch NBA TV's 1 Hour Special Kobe Bryant: The Interview (http://sectioneighty.com/watch-nba-tvs-1-hour-special-kobe-bryant-the-interview/)

Great interview!

You get to see clips of Jordan and Kobe talking trashing at each other on the court. Now that was cool.

NBA's not going to be the same without Kobe if and when he retires. Probably the last one of his type of ballers.

What a decade that is coming to an end, we will seeing three great players of all-time retiring soon: Kobe, Timmy, Dirk

Awesome! Thanks for the link.

At about the 11 minute mark when Kobe and MJ are jawing at each other in the All-Star game........Epic, I really enjoyed that. I wish I could watch the whole game with them mic'd like that.

Incredible interview, I used to hate Kobe, being a Spurs fan and all, but the last 4-5 years I've come to appreciate what he does. Such a hard worker.

I hope Tim Duncan can do something like this someday.

I was lucky enough to see Kobe just last month, vs Lebron and the Cavs and it was amazing.

Agree on this one!!! :)!

Really loved watching the special... Really shows how clever he is in this game called Baketball :D

Part with MJ "trash talking" and the part where Jordan told him about the fadeway-jumper on the court was indeed great!!

He's got some hard work ethic!!

This was fascinating! But as much as he wanted to 'learn' and absorb all the information from Tex and Phil, how could he not recognize his own failings as a volume, deep jumper shooter in a time where everything points to ball movement, better shot selection and the 3-pointer?
He has a hard time separating dominant, alpha-Kobe and what's best for him and his current situation.

I really enjoyed the interview. I like that Kobe is a leader and does it his way. He has a great work ethic and you can see from the way he talks he's a basketball savant.

Excellent video, thanks for posting it! I've never cared for Kobe, but always respected how he approached the game. This interview now further strengthens my respect for him as he's grown up so much. Just listen to him in the rookie year days to the time giving the interview.

Hopefully back in Minny. That'd be real nice symmetry...
