What are your thoughts about a finals auto set with a new twist? Instead of including a manufactured patch that looks like the trophy or a picture of the player holding the trophy, the set would consist pictures of each finals game the player was in. The set would be numbered to the finals appearances the player was in. A trophy parallel set could be created that is numbered to the amount of rings the player won with gold stamping and a refractor look. I want a magic Johnson card from game 7 of the 1980 finals and a card of the hook shot that sunk Boston. This would be a harder set to create than a normal finals auto set where all the cards of one player are the same. I want cards to teacher the history of the league as much as glorifying the current rookie crop.

My other idea is a take on immaculates all star auto set from 2 years ago.
I love the concept of these autos being numbered to the amount of times the player appeared in the all star game. My idea is that each card represent 1 appearance at the game with a photo and stats from that game. Every card would be a 1/1 in a sense. If the player was the mvp of the game that year, that card would have a special stamp or foil on it. That would make a player collector consider chasing the whole set. Stamp mvp on the card for the game the player was selected as the mvp. What are your thoughts?

The only issue I see,is the greatest achievers would have the most cards.

That would be sweet. I like to collect cards about the Finals or even cards with pictures of guys from the Finals withe patch on their jersey. So something like this would be too expensive for me, but awesome.

That would require Panini to invest in new images, which they clearly hate doing.

I guess people still buy in the Panini Signature that the card is /25 when there is 10 copies of the same player....

Buy back RC's...

Example: take a 1961 Fleer Elgin Baylor RC, the card company buys a rookie year jersey, chops up amazing pieces to place in the card, then have it signed. Probably number it to 100 or so. Maybe they could split the card perfectly in half, and use a filler blank cardboard card to fill the inside.

Then do this with all the top HOF rookie cards and charge $10,000.00 a box!

I like the idea. As long as you don't expect GU material from the Finals.

Here is a custom I'm working on for my Olajuwon PC. The relic came out of a damaged card I traded for. Your idea sparked a few changes.
