If Robinson goes unclaimed, he plans to sign a 10-day deal with Brooklyn.

Sixers need to reach 90 percent of cap before season's end. Robinson's salary gets it there. If not, shortfall divided among rest of roster.

The other players are probably pumped that they don't get a little extra cash to make up for all their losing.

Good buy for the sixers.. I think he can develop into a force to be reckoned with.
Sad to see him leave the Blazers.

They'll just trade him for a second rd pick in the off season.

First move that the Sixers have made in a while that I really like - a guy that I think could really benefit from an increase in minutes

Well that's awkward. T-Rob already tweeted how excited he was to be joining Brooklyn.

Thomas Robinson is going to turn into the "Name your favorite backup QB, NBA D Leaguer, or random 1st round pick" that everyone loves to pimp.
He's young. He was a high draft pick. I get it.
He's also on his now 4th team. Why all of a sudden (other then the fact the Sixers suck so bad) is he magically going to to turn into a good player. No one else saw it obviously.
This will end up being the Derrick Williams thread from last year.
Now to be fair I'm just being sarcastic. It is Blowout after all. There is no reason for a team as bad as Philly not to at least give him a chance.

well hes lucky he went to philly instead of the nets, they wouldve given him a small chance probably, but he wouldnt and shouldnt have played much. he shouldnt have gotten minutes ahead of cory jefferson who has played well lately and really shouldve been in the dunk contest.
in phillly maybe he will actually play 20-30 mins a game, thats the best thing for him. its the only chance to get a future in the nba because his chances b4 philly of being in the nba next year were probably 50-50. i would think he'd get a great opportunity there and would be smart to resign with them for whatever contract they offer him.

I had to look up who this was. is it just me or have there been a lot of lottery busts recently....

I really wish the Trailblazers wouldnt have dealt him. Great pickup for Philly IMO.

I think he's a much better fit in Philly's young, uptempo system. He's a high motor hustle guy. I also wish Portland would have properly utilized his talents and give him playing time, but there's just too much clutter in our roster that that wouldn't have been possible.
Plus Philly really doesn't have anything to lose at this point, so let him play balls to the wall and see what his ceiling is.

I don't think Thomas Robinson should be labeled as a bust. A lot of lottery picks don't have All-Star careers, but are very valuable players over the course of their career. I think if he is actually allowed to stay in a system under the same coach for more than a year, his could be a solid role player on a playoff team. And with the number of lottery picks over the last 15 years that fell out of the league in a few seasons, a solid role player ain't bad.
