View Full Version : What's it going to take for R. Westbrooks cards to hit DRose levels (at their peak)?

A Championship? MVP? Finals MVP? Or Durant going to Washington?

Do you think they can reach DRose levels (at their peak) or no because there are two superstars on the team right now?

Him going to a market like Chicago, winning a ring, and doing it without Durant.

Rose exquisite /99. Westbrook /225 that's a huge difference when it comes to value.

Do Rose and Westbrook only have Exquisite RCs? News to me.

1) Goes to East team that has no stars
2) His team is #1 seed in the East
3) Still win MVP even Lebron has 30/10/10 season.

Then I can see that happens.

As mentioned the card #ing plays a part but also Rose was a #1 pick and came with a huge fan base from college and in Chicago. I had a thread about this and I do think the public will eventually realize that his player and hobby value is worthy of being pretty damn high but I can't see it getting to Rose's highest levels because those at one time were Durantish for a little while.

I would be shocked if they don't grow more though after people keep watching what he's doing now w/o Durant and the team is winning.

Rose holds value because people are afraid to lose their a** on the stashes they have. It's quite simple.

People have way too much invested to just dump at current prices. They'd rather hold "just in case"

Rose is way more artifically high then Westbrook is low.

MVP and a title. He would actually be a decent investment right now. His stuff is still fairly affordable. Injury concerns with him too though

Even if he puts up the stats and keeps winning, I'm thinking his window has already passed (hobby-wise)...

He needs an at least an MVP to really establish himself as the alpha or KD leaving. Even if he were to win a championship with Durant he'd be the Scottie Pippen in that duo.

I don't think being "the side kick" is good for a guys card values. people want to collect "the man".

I think a lot of it was that Derrick rose was the alpha. He was clearly "the man" on his team. Idk how much the market matters in todays game. Lebron played in Cleveland and that's smaller than Chicago. And KD plays in OKC with Westbrook but both LeBron and KD card values were more than Rose at his peak.

Based on this, I'd say that Westbrooks stuff is already on the rise...

When he gets a team of his own. Once he is in Durant's shadow people will always assume Durant is the hero and Westbrook is the heel.

The guy is literally closing out games in 3 quarters!!!

This. There is no other NBA fan base so delusional to over pay so much for a player's cards. Westbrook is a top 10 player, but he's no Lebron.
