Derrick Rose Undergoes Surgery, Expected Back In 4-6 Weeks.
Derrick Rose is expected to return from his knee surgery in four to six weeks.
"We expect Derrick to be playing this season," said Gar Forman.
Rose had the damaged part of his meniscus removed during the surgery, which was described as minor.
Rose first tore the meniscus in his right knee in November of 2013 and subsequently missed the remainder of the 13-14 season.

How many times has someone "expected" for Derrick Rose to play over the last 3 seasons and he didn't for any number of reasons? Mental, physical, whatever...
I bet I don't have enough fingers to count.

His first Meniscus tear was a repair with a 6-8 month recovery, better in the long run if you can save your Meniscus rather than take it out.
This time he must of had a Meniscus removal where they just remove the torn Meniscus, much quicker recovery but you lose some Meniscus. If it was a smaller tear he shoudn't be affected much in the long term.
I would expect to see him back, but 3 surgeries now is concerning for someone at his age.

I really hope just for the sake of interest in basketball that he comes back and can be a 15 plus ppg scorer. With him at that level, Chicago still has a punchers chance, otherwise I'm going to have to watch another Lebron super team yet again come out of the East.

Is it hard to type with 4 fingers?

Is it hard to type with 4 fingers?
Not really - and since it's way more then 4 - it's pretty much moot

Right. The playoffs the year after he tore his ACL. Last year after his first meniscus surgery. The beginning of this season. And now. 4. But cool man. Fun joke.

Love the "perfect" humans on this board who like to trash professional athletes like Rose. These are the same people that get the common cold and sniffles and have to miss 3 days of work because of it. Call off coughing on the phone to their boss hoping they don't get in trouble LOL.
People act like Rose has control over this, the amount of abuse his body is taking is too much for him. He still plays his ass off.

You really think those were the only times he was "expected" to play and didn't?
There are at least a half dozen games, this season, where he was expected to play and ended up having to sit out.

He's not a robot, he's a human. Clearly he has injury issues, clearly his entire career is at jeopardy right now. Do you think this is how Rose want's it? It's not hard to sit behind a keyboard and criticize. But to deal with the crap Rose is going through right now is.

I said the beginning of the season, when he had two sprained ankles that I guess he was supposed to play through.

Kyrie's out tonight. He hasn't had any serious injuries but how many games was he "expected" to play that he didn't.

Do you guys have reading problem or what?
It is Bulls' GM set the timetable for fans, not Rose. Bulls GM sent the message to fans that Rose is expected to play in 4 to 6 weeks. It is all about setting high hope and be optimistic from this bad situation.
Seriously, this GM is not doctor. And this GM does not live inside of Rose.

Which is totally irrelevant to what I said. Thanks for playing though.
Rose missing games he was supposed to play, due to "dings", because he never fully gets back to health has nothing to do with anyone not wanting him to play.
It's a simple fact.
Rose has missed way more games, plenty simply for mental reasons, that he was supposed to play because he just wasn't quite ready... when he probably should have been. That's fine. That's his choice. It's also reality.
Sure he might be back in 4-6 weeks and then he'll take every other night off. Just like he did this season.
People can deny it all they want.

At least one
Kyrie's "dings" via B/R: Toe, concussion, sprained right shoulder, broken hand, broken index finger, fractured jaw, hyperextended knee, sprained left shoulder, right nasal fracture and bruised knee. Now a shoulder strain.
Which is totally irrelevant to what I said. Thanks for playing though.

He played something like 29 out of the last 30 games before he tore his meniscus.
"Derrick Rose is expected to return from his knee surgery in four to six weeks."
Much to his dismay. I think he was lookin' forward to more time off.

You mean all of the professional basketball players that post on this board have no room to talk?

We have the technology to fix him, he's not dead.
Still the youngest MVP in league history,

Good news for D rose fans, now that the meniscus has been fully removed he has blood flow in his knees.
The mistake was repairing the meniscus first time it got injured.
Westbrook had his repaired at first then got hurt and had it removed.
We will finally see rose back with blood circulation in his knee now that the meniscus is removed!
This means he can turn some heads and be better than his previous 2 comebacks.

Meniscus was not fully removed to my knowledge, just partial. The problems he's had has nothing to do with blood flow.

If it was as simple as blood flow the bulls training staff would have D popping little blue pills on the sidelines during games.
Get well SOON D Rose.
Still not sure it matters after watching the cavs play these last two weeks.
