In the past month I have had 2 sellers back out of sales. One even relisted the card for a higher amount. The 2nd was during the eBay bucks promotion where I received 8x the regular amount of eBay bucks.. So frustrated....

This has never happened to me, I've been using ebay since 2001. Now buyers backing out!! That's a weekly thing LOL.

It's frustrating because I could have spent my money on other things that I had to pass up... A negative feedback is not enough....

For me in the past month I have cancelled 1 listing. It was an auction listing and I made a mistake in the title. I didn't put a space between 2 words and it was affecting traffic.
The only other thing that I've had to do was recently cancel all of my counteroffers and decline current offers after I found a defect in the card that I had missed originally. I didn't cancel the listing but had to do all of that just to revise.

My 2 cases have been me winning an auction/best offer.. Paying.. Waiting 3-4 days for tracking info.. And then receiving a refund.

Happens much more frequently to me lately than ever. Used to never happen. Now it's almost routine, especially when an auction doesn't meet their expectations.

I haven't had any sellers recently back out of a completed auction, but it seems like I've had a lot of bids cancelled recently when sellers pull the auction listings with a day or two left on the clock. Usually the excuse is that there was an error in the listing, but in general I think the real excuse is that bidding wasn't high enough already. These people have high feedback. Don't they know most bidding happens right at the end? I've seen cards sit at $20 for days and then go up over $200 in the last 15 seconds of the listing. It's frustrating, but there's nothing you can really do about it.

yeah, I have this much much more. About 15-20% of my buyers don't pay anymore
I haven't ever backed out of Ebay sales, but definitely have had a lot of buyers not pay. There literally is one card that I've sold 3 times, and all 3 times, the buyers haven't paid. So frustrating. The only times I have canceled auctions recently is due to card damage that I missed when I listed.

I had a seller back out on a transaction about two months ago. I pad and he immediately refunded me. He gave me the run around about misplacing the card and that if he found it he would sell it to me at a discount. I waited for over a month before leaving him a negative!

So the guy refunded your money immediately and you then had email discussion that he would resell you card at discount if he found it! Did he ever relist the card that you know of? But yet you left a negative because he did what to you? That's garbage!
Would you have rather had him say that he just didn't want to sell you the card? What else should he have done? I'm just curious!

I've had 5 buyers bail out on me just this week alone. One guy told me he was being too aggressive and bid too much (?) and wanted to cancel.
Another bidder who won my auction for $250 actually had relisted it at $375 before paying me for it after originally telling me he needed a couple days to get the $$...
Its become beyond pathetic this week .

Buyers back out all the time. $2 card or $100 card, buyers aint in until the cough up the dough.
I have only had 1 seller back out of a deal in 10+ years on ebay. He said he didn't charge enough for shipping and wanted another $20 shipping for an $8 item.

i'm not seeing sellers backing out of a completed sale, but i am seeing a lot of items being ended early and relisted later.

wow, that's lame. it's an imperfect world, sometimes cards get misplaced. he immediately refunded you, told you why, offered to sell you the card at a discount if found, and presumably never relisted to sell to anyone else.... and you gave him a negative???
can you please provide your ebay username?

Singles buyers are nothing more than buzzards flying around a kill and then cowardly swooping in after all the carnage has been done. eBay, PayPal and the entire industry just laughs at everyone in this entire hobby. It seems to me that all collectibles are basically just a way for some pathetic company to sell garbage no one wants. eBay is basically a direct representation of this and people are starting to see that any auction is basically two people holding their breath and hoping all goes well. Why the #@#@#@#@ would I just want to give my #@#@#@#@ away!! eBay is just like this industry, DOOMED. The real question is why would you think ebay isn't worse with this stuff as opposed to the original question?

If I had to guess I'd say 1/3 of my recent sales the last month or so have gone unpaid for. Of course I don't sell a whole lot. With no recourse its really frustrating. Without the fear of getting a negative buyers really no longer care if they pay or not.

Why is he wrong for giving a negative. If he lost the card he should have canceled the auction. Imo sounds like the guy did not get his price and decided not to sell.

I guess it depends on how much you believe in karma. I had a guy recently tell me he couldn't find the card and he refunded me immediately. I assumed that the price was too low and he just didn't want to sell it, but I held off on leaving any kind of feedback. A few hours later he messaged me that he had located the card and would ship it out if I still wanted it. People make honest mistakes. I find that if I treat people well I seem to have a lot more positive outcomes to situations.
If he had taken several days to process the refund or lied about shipping the card or something, that might warrant a negative or neutral. Misplacing a card or having a card shop employee sell a card through the storefront without closing the auction is usually not neg-worthy in my mind unless they couple it with a poor customer service experience.
