I'm no expert but I think it is. He only had the Chrome AU in 2009 and I don't think he had antthing come out in 2010. Like I said though, I am no expert.

I hope this isn't a forum no-no but I have a nice looking one here if your interezted:

Thanks for the help and the offer but I was looking at a blue refractor version.

Yes that's it. However, the sterling one is the desirable/sought after one.

Ok,I never thought about Sterling.

This is true, it goes for insane amounts. I have two and I'm trying so hard not to cash out. Big fan of the Finest too, far better looking than the BC.

Chrome is not king in his non auto rc in 2011. Sterling easily outdoes chrome.

So the 2010 bowman platinum Doesnt count as a rc or is that his prospect first

2010 platinum would be a prospect

Chrome is King in regards to prospect cards, not always rookie cards.

So the 2010 bowman platinum Doesnt count as a rc or is that his prospect first

That would be a prospect card.

Depending on how you feel about eTopps, that may be a consideration for you as well. I don't know if it came out before the Bowman Chrome card, but the 2011 eTopps card is limited to 999 copies, has the RC logo, and sells for about twice the cost of the Bowman Chrome.

I would have thought the Chrome RC was the one to have but I guess the Sterling seems to be the Trout non auto RC to have.

I always overlooked Sterling in general so I guess you learn something new every day lol.

Sterling was actually a pretty decent product before 2012. It has been worse than garbage from then on. I love 2011 but still don't get why it sells for so much more than the Finest or BC versions. Chrome is king but only in regards to prospects. For RC's and vets, it seems to be an open ballgame and a moving target between products year to year.

The etopps RC was released in August 2011, if that helps at all.

Good info. Then despite the distribution method, the eTopps card was the earlier RC-logo card (answering the original question of the thread).

Bowman Chrome release: 19 October 2011
Bowman Draft release: 23 November 2011
Bowman Sterling release: 21 December 2011

Collectors/prospectors do not care about this one bit as long as the cards all are labeled as 2011 or whatever year is relevant. Month, day, week has zero to do with value. It has more to do with product reputation, card aesthetics and print run.

As base RCs go, it has the least supply, apparently. I've seen the Sterling base sell for over $200 just recently.

I know all that. I'm sure most folks do.
I just thought it was funny how quickly the thread went from "earliest" RC to "most valuable". Basically ignoring the OP's question.

Lol, good catch. I hadn't even noticed.
