The All-Time Redraft is complete and now the question of which All-Time Team is the best is up to the Blowout Community! We will conduct voting 4 teams at a time until only one team remains. Here is the seventh poll.

Participants in the draft are free to vote for any team except their own.

So, Blowout Community, of these 4 teams, which is the best? Feel free to interpret "best" however you wish.

CLR Troy Percival ------------Jim Whitney-------------------John Wettleand--------- Jack McDowell

Each team was given the option of stating their case in 3 sentences or less:

Team #1: I built my team to have a crazy strong lineup, and I think I accomplished that with my first 4 hitters (Carew/Dawson/Williams/Killebrew) and some major power coming off the bench in pinch-hit situations with Canseco and Lee. Speed and defense was another important factor to me, and I took care of those aspects in drafting Carew, Dawson, Torii, Varitek, and Campaneris. Paired with a solid rotation and a bullpen that can throw 6 different strong arms at you, I think I did a great job at building a very strong team.

Team #2: N/A

Team #3: N/A

Team #4: Balanced is the one word to describe this All Time Great Team designed with a perfected blend of positions, skill level, personalities, and accomplishments of elite veteran hitters, pitchers and young stars. Simply, I drafted players that have had an historical impact in America’s Pastime, internationally and our baseball card hobby. From the legendary stories of Hall of Famers Clemente, Rose and the Negro League players to the ‘legendary prospects’ Stephen Strasburg, Bryce Harper and other young studs, this team is fitting for the inaugural Blowout Forums All Time Baseball Team!

I didn't know that 1 career MLB pitching appearance qualified him to be a pitcher.

Unfortunately for Team #3 he failed to select the minimum number of pitchers and chose Dunn to join the pen. Brilliant.

As it is he has Monte Ward pulling double duty as a starting 2nd baseman AND a reliever. But no worries, Neil Walker to the resuce. SMH.

He had to make sure he had 4 first basemen and 4 second basemen, no time for nonsense like relief pitchers!

If only Jason Motte was here. I can't believe the team Motte was on won their division, though I believe that was the team with one of the greatest starting rotations of the draft.

Team 3 had such potential with Cy Young and Kersh... then Dunn has to relieve them, LOL. The fact that he's the first RP listed makes it even better, like he's their best reliever.

Plus Cecil should've replaced Ted K in the lineup... more HRs career and in a season, plus more name recognition...

Love this poll :D

Although two starting pitchers on Team 3 are tough, holding the 7th,8th and 9th innings down over 7 games would be tough with that bullpen.

Team 4 definitely has the right long and middle relievers along with some solid set up men for a long series. :)

I can't believe a team with one-third of its players dedicated to the right half of the infield AND two position players pitching is winning. Just goes to show that name recognition > anything else in these votes.

Since we are bringing up positions, I realize Team 4 has all it's bases covered when it comes to eligible backups. I believe they had to play over 300 games at the position to qualify at that position.

1B Adrian Gonzalez, Ryan Howard
2B Craig Biggio, Pete Rose
3B Pete Rose, Jud Wilson
SS Arky Vaughan, Andrelton Simmons
C Joe Mauer, Craig Biggio

I also want to point out the Hall of Famer and War Vet Jud Wilson was known for his fiery attitude on the field and his dislike for pitchers. Looking at how voting is going, I'd have to send him in there to pinch hit hoping that Cy Young or Clayton Kershaw attempt to back him off the plate.

For some reason, I see a Nolan Ryan/Robin Ventura type thing happening except in reverse. :)

I appreciate that! The lineups that these rotations face will make them average over multiple innings. You'll need depth in your bullpen to take any 7 game series. The vast majority of Team 4's lineup are tough outs but I guess you can say that about almost every team. However, Team 4 has the All Time Hit King and Roberto! :)

I'm debating between 1 and 2. 4 has too many players that shouldn't have been drafted. Which is unfortunate because that team really drafted well for the first half of the draft and then went completely off the rails with picks like Simmons, Deion, Ventura, Mashi, etc.

But they are light years better than team 3. Sure, Cy Young can pitch a complete game every time. Ok. But Kershaw can't. Haddix and McGinnity won't. And then DeGrom?! So, they will have to rely on their non-existent bullpen a lot more than most teams which amounts to just 3 pitchers in the pen. Ward will be manning 2nd base and that means Dunn will have to pitch.

Justification: :)
Neion Deion Sanders:
I felt I needed a pinch runner and, IMO, there wasn't anyone more exciting on the board. Prime Time had the speed to score from 1st on a single.

Andrelton Simmons selection was based on his current performance and the possibility that he could end up being one of the greats at his position. Heck, I didn't even know what the Platinum Glove award was until this kid. The great Arky Vaughan would have been a great mentor to this young star.

Mashi, I wanted someone that made an impact on the game of international baseball and he was obviously good enough to make the roster, pitching for a few years. It took another 30 years for a Japanese player to make a MLB roster. The fact that he was a San Francisco Giant made it an easy final pick.

Yordano: The kid throws 102 MPH! I was stationed in Kansas City and wanted a Royals player on my roster. He was going to be my closer but Cy Young award winner Black Jack took that from him. To be surrounded by players like Bob Welch, Carlos, Bullet and Foster only assist him in meeting his potential.

Finally, I will be putting a personal collection together of my All Time Draft Team. I will be purchasing them as funds become available. Clemente and Rose will be costly! In addition, I will be following the young players over the years to see, if indeed, they become all time greats. I'll be creating a thread after my first pick up and update it constantly. It'll be fun!

I never said having a bullpen is overrated. I said relievers are overrated because they aren't as good as starters. But you need a good bullpen. A good starting pitcher in the bullpen would dominate. A DH in the bullpen would be awful. In reality Team #3 has no pitching depth. With Dunn in the pen and not enough relievers in general they would suffer.

I'm no baseball coach but imagine this:
Going into the playoffs for a World Series run and potentially multiple 7 game series, would you rather have:

TEAM 3
5 Starters
5 Bullpen (Where 1 is a DH-Jose Canseco 2.0)(Another is the starting 2B)
-so really 3 legitimate/fresh pitchers in the bullpen

TEAM 4
5 Starters
6 Bullpen (Composed of World Series champions and Cy Young winners)

It takes a team to win a championship. Who are you taking?

This is where I should vote for your team.

I feel like the Royals last year. You know, one of your best hitters all year up to bat but you're facing Madison Bumgarner in your last at bat. Except, in this case, it's Adam Dunn on the mound. lol

Woah! In the final seconds...Team #4 Ties it up! (The owner of Team #4 had voted for himself so his vote gets subtracted. We will have a tie breaker at the conclusion of the Poll #8!

Considering the outcome...a more appropriate comparison would be the Wild Card Game against Oakland when we tied it up to go into Extra Innings!

We need to nominate Metsplaya for member of the month! Classic!

One can't help but think that some people didn't vote for the team they really think is best here...

(I didn't vote at all so perhaps shouldn't say anything. I would've voted team 2 anyway.)

It was a battle Hollywood. It was a tough division with votes going to three different teams. Good game!
