Thanks! I felt that pushing the logo to the side would give the artists more room to draw, unencumbered.

Want to save that for an email update, or at least for a later date, just to give us something "new." Don't want to give everything away on day 1!

It's very cool though! I got a message from several artists who wanted to thank me for making the cards great. Thick stock, rigid, but soft paper on the front to draw on, nice art on the back...

OH and I had the A/P's foil stamped for them!

Better (i.e. bigger?) image available? That Peter Santamaria looks pretty effin' sweet. I think the biggest disappointment from the email was not seeing Ted Dastick listed as a confirmed creator sketch card artist ;) All in all, pretty pleasing email.

I'm nervous about providing a list-- because while I have about 75 artists confirmed, i've already had 2 cancel (which I appreciate them doing early on)...

...so I don't want to make any guarantees about anyone.

But rest assured most of the big names are on board, plus a few really great new ones (like Peter)

I can respect that position. I can also see where anything else could haunt you later on. At the same time, I think the whole industry suffers anymore because artists don't ever have consequences. If an AD had a "no comment" policy along with their "subject to change" I don't think I could find fault with it, even if I got myself erased from the list for inexcusable reasons. It would be up to me to decide if I wanted to explain myself... no different than with our commission lists and other obligations. But then, my To Do list is public anyway exactly for accountability (and it also says I have two cards done! ;))

And obviously all that said, just one opinion and not even one that matters here :D

It is always fun to be introduced to new artists. I got in touch with Peter Santa Maria last night, and I'm glad I got in touch with him when I did because he had just one return card left! Great stuff!

Hmm. It sounds like there's a reason you're asking this.

But yes, of course everyone gets "return" cards. We are not permitting them to sell, however, until a later date that has not yet been determined because we want everyone focused on doing their actual set sketches.

We know there is a fervent fan community that contacts these artists while they're still working, to get their returns or to reserve them. I understand that from the fan's perspective, but it's a little frustrating for me because it takes focus off the actual product, which is where we want it.

I am very excited about this set too. I probably won't be able to buy as much as I'd like, but all the new sketch card talent is really making think I'll be pretty satisfied with whatever I end up buying.

It unfortunately has to do with timing. For me, February through April tend to be when I spend the most on cards, because conventions start in May and I attend at least one or two a month until October. That convention spending money has got to come from somewhere! So, yeah, less cards. I will definitely be pledging something though. Looking to pick up at least 1-3 boxes based on what I've heard so far (which is pretty significant considering how little of anything I buy before I see actual breaks).

I can also confirm that Dan Brereton will be doing BOTH regular sketch cards AND creator sketch cards.

Initially he'd declined to do base art due to scheduling, so I just had him do some of the regular sketches. Then he got so into it he decided he wanted to do at least one card in the main set, so i sent him some creator sketch cards to do as well :)

He'll be the only one though, doing both like that.
