I PC Curtis Martin. I've had the /3,000 for some time then recently have found 2 other variations. Becketts ck list only lists the /3,000.
Any info on these? The cards, front and back are all the same, just the #ering is different. I've never seen the 2,000 before, being that print run I'd expect to have seen more.

I've also recently found a couple /3,000 that were not hand #d as well.
I'm wondering if there are any other variations out there.
Thx!

The numbered of 2,000 card is questionable IMO. Since Signature Rookies did make a certified auto of Martins in the Prime set, it is very doubtful that they would have had him sign plain base cards and then place a sticker on it. My guess is that the signature is a forgery and the sticker was taken from another card. Your other card (/3000) with the sticker is legit. There are similar cards from different players with stickers.
Do you have the Prime variation with the card encased in a plastic case and sealed with two stickers?

I do not have the sealed case one!
The one with sticker over the /3000 did come in a snap tight case and the card is in excellent condition, but it didn't have any seals.
I also have this one, and like the /2000 I haven't seen another.
I think I'll send them in to Beckett for authentication and see what happens.

Here is mine. I 100% pulled this so I know it is legit. I still have it in my binder from when I was a kid.

Your card has the printed "Authentic Signature" in yellow ink near the bottom. Yes it's legit and the sticker on the back is correct.

Again, I hate to burst your bubble, but that sig looks to be a forgery. The easy point of reference is the "r" in Curtis. All of his certified autos from 1995 look the same with two points at the top of the "r" and yours has only one point at the top. That is just one reference mark - the C and M look wrong also.
Signed base cards with stickers added are notorious for being counterfeit. The 1991 Brett Favre Star Pics autograph is heavily forged with almost every card you find on Ebay being a forgery - even the graded cards.

The 1/2,500 is a '96. His auto does change from his college yrs to pro. Again though with a print run of /2,500 I've only seen the one in my hand...lol!

Sounds like you know quite a bit about this set.
Why was mine not hand numbered in the corner? Did they just miss it?

I don't know the real answer. There are many other player cards with unnumbered versions.
My guess is that more than 3,000 were signed and the overs were given stickers instead of numbers.

I also PC Curtis Martin on the side, I have quite a few nice pieces if you want to discuss them.
Here are my 95 Signature Rookies/Superior Pix Autos.
I also have several Tennessee folks in the set. I have the Jerry Colquitt encased in both blue and black ink. I also have one out of case in blue ink.
I also have the subset, ROY Martin's. They are labeled 1996, so I often wonder if they were released in the 1996 SR Autobilia set, I have a James Stewart & Aaron Hayden that are in college jersey but no autographs. I only know of the inserts numbered 6-10, I have never seen the Auto version.

I've seen several not hand #d up on eBay so it appears its not uncommon.
Thx a ton for everyone's input. While I do agree it appears I've been had, I'm gonna send these 2 in question off to Becketts authentication dept.

I've opened quite a few signature rookies boxes and I've run a across a couple autographs missing the numbering. I've even seen one that was hand numbered and said "authentic signature" but had no signature.

Man, wasn't our hobby awesome before the internet? I wonder how many variations of this card have leaked out over the years... I have no reason to think that any of these would be fakes, though...

Right! I feel good about the /2000 now but the '96 ROY /2500 I've yet to see another one. One of these days I'll get it out to Beckett.
As far as how many variations the more the merrier! I enjoy chasing them and adding to my collection.
