Being the best centre in our game today. Why does his cards still sell for so low?

Because he is injured, and because of Kobe

Left like a huge punk in Orlando and LA. Never became the dominant force it looked like he could become in 2007. Does he have any fans left?

3 reasons
because people expect the most from him and that is almost impossible to deliver.
because the whole leaving Orlando debacle, ending up injured on a bad laker team
because he is a funny genuine person, and i guess people take him as a joke
i personally like him but it is what it is

No player in the NBA can stop a healthy Howard. Cousins is close to it.

he tried and tried to stay in orlando and their management made moves behind his back, head coaching was also a problem..how was he a "huge punk"
LA he was injured and everyone still expected the world from him..kobe got injured and nobody cared that was his team, kobe didnt want dwight and he made the best move getting out of there asap

Says the heat fan. Ask any LA or Orlando fan what they think of Dwight.
He's top 5 most hated in the league for a reason.

This is questionable to many people.
Personally, don't know him and won't judge. He doesn't bother me.

"I wanted out of Orlando because the players on the team stunk. I wanted out of LA because I wanted more than a good time in the city." Said Howard

When he was drafted he talked alot about his religion, and being a religious role model. How many baby mamas does he have? Is he really out for injury now, or is the NBA doing a Jordan-gambling suspension for the child abuse allegation, trying to avoid the type of attention the NFL got with Peterson?
On the court, he's always had the body to dominate but never the attitude to match. Joachim Noah and Tyson Chandler are marginally talented players, but they're great because of intensity and desire to maximize their physical talent. Dwight Howard has the perception of unrealized/wasted potential, which (realistic or not) is something the public doesn't tolerate in its idols.

I think people think he's ingenuine, a phony. He lacks killer instinct. He's more concerned about being well-liked than being successful.

He's a selfish punk with the maturity of a spoiled preschooler and the intelligence of a coffee table.

This. Threw his Magic teammates under the bus, got a great coach fired to keep him happy and still ended up leaving the team.
How many child payments is he making to separate women these days? I lost count at 6.

Stop what? He doesn't do anything besides miss free throws?

Wish him back soon.

I can't believe how low his SPx Auto GUs /750 RCs sell for now. Seems like yesterday he was wearing a cape, flying through the air, and those were $155ish cards.

He doesn't seem interested in basketball.
He went to LA to make a movie (now on Netflix)
His injury seemed to come and go, as did his facial expressions reveal his motives.
When he wore the cape, he was playing and having fun.
Now, I feel like he tries just so he won't hear people complain.
He came in his league as a high school phenom and he had a tough road growing into an adult. I'll never forget the press conference when Van Gundy was telling them bad stuff about Dwight and Dwight came up and gave him a phony hug.

Are we talking this season or who has had the best career? Is Anthony Davis a center or power forward this season? You guys do not even watch basketball do you. Wow!

Anthony Davis NBA Stats | Basketball-Reference.com (http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/davisan02.html#advanced_pbp::none)
Davis has played 3% of his minutes at Center position this season.
Where is your counter argument? If you are going by careers then yes, Howard is the "best". This would be like saying Michael Jordan was the best shooting guard in 2003.
I guess putting an overused meme in a post is easier than having any real thoughts processing in your head. LOL!

The only center you can even argue that is better then Cousins this season is Marc Gasol.

The "best center in the league" leading his team to whopping 22 wins.
C'mon man. A. When you're on a bad team your stats get padded. B. When you're on a good team, your stats don't get padded.
Prime Example? Kevin Love.
Dwight Howard has 58% FG % for his career.
I guess real thoughts don't happen in your head either.

Nice argument dude! I see you are very informed on the current season of NBA basketball.
Do act like this in real life too? You ran away so I had to drag you back.
You are amazing!
And yes, I am 12. What are you 5 years old? Way to be a mature adult.
Edit: sorry shouldnt have gone that far, and I do apologize for the comments I edited from my post.

Has Howard even played this season because every time I turn a Rockets game on I never see him! Howard has played 32 games this season. He is not and will never be the player he use to be.

Dwight is unliked because he had the potential to be the most dominant center of his era. Instead, he jokes/clowns around all the time, that gets very annoying over time

Yeah, I could use a girlfriend. :p
I love the NBA, and love debating and talking about it. When people give me weak arguments I get a little too fired up. Its all good though. You have your opinion and I have mine and we can leave it at that. At least we probably entertained the other readers of this thread with our back and forth. :)
See you in the next thread. ;)

He's NOT the best center in the game today, (back when he played for Orlando he was). He is always injured, he is to soft, he reminds me of a kid playing the game cause he never takes it seriously. Not to mention what he pulled in Orlando.

I used to really like him in Orlando...It appeared that he was a great player, that even led a bad overall team to the playoffs, all the while doing it with a smile..
Then it all changed...Attitude from my perspective took a 180 and so did his popularity.
..Crazy how fast that turn happened though.
.
Funny thing is he's most hated for bailing on the Lakers.

A friend of mine said it in a way that I find congruent. He wants to be the man without being the man.
