Matt from the Fantastic Store started breaking after midnight and went to around 3:30 with 20 boxes of the Heavy Hitters Super Break and it was fun to watch and a lot of good hits.
Some notables:
Ty Cobb Cut Auto and Art with a Gold Bag
BVG 9.5 Larry Bird Magic Johnson RC
Mike Trout BGS 9.5 Blue Refractor Auto RC
Mike Trout BGS 9.5 Xfractor Auto RC

If you ask me there wasn't a single case that was a serious disappointment. Out of all the $2k cases out there, Heavy Hitters carries, by far, the least risk. Why else would they be able to sell 20 cases in the first 4 hours of release? The hits mentioned above were all single cards that paid for the case and then some. How many cases have you busted where you can honestly say that 75% of the case was free?

If I had $41K to spend on cards this is what I would buy:
A PSA 2 Mickey Mantle 1952 Topps Rc $6,000
A PSA 9 Michael Jordan Fleer Rc - $2,400
All the Ty Cobb T206 Variations PSA 1 condition - $4,000
Finish off the rest of my PSA HOF Post War Rc set - $10,000 (that's being generous)
$5,000 worth of '90's rare Frank Thomas inserts
$5,000 worth of 90's rare Ken Griffey Jr inserts
Ty Cobb cut auto - $3,000
Babe Ruth cut auto - $7,000
So that's roughly $41,000 (give or take) of cards I could get instead of product. I understand it's the thrill of opening the pack, but dang....that would be rough to take if that's the notable cards you got for $41K.....
Just my 2 cents....

Gotta remember the $41,000 was spread across a lot of people. So no one person dropped $41,000. We all with $41,000 could build some nice wish lists.

The notables list goes on forever. Those were the four big ones. Off the top of my head I remember two Gretzky autos, a Trout 2009 Sterling auto, a Luck 2012 Finest Gold auto, two Russell Wilson 2012 Topps Chrome Prism autos #/50, a Jackie Robinson 1955 Topps PSA 6, a Mickey Mantle 1960 Topps PSA 4, two Abrea Bowman ref autos 9.5/10, an Ernie Banks 1/1 auto, a Koufax auto from some older Donruss set, some sick Pujols autos, an entire case of 1/1 cards and an entire case of BGS pristine 10 cards. The list goes on, but that's a sample of some of the mid range hits. Keep in mind, most of the cards I just mentioned were packaged with an additional card. There were maybe two boxes out of the 60+ I saw that were rough. Not saying they were all winners, but only 2 obvious losers.

Used cars don't sell themselves. Last night these boxes, at $520 a pop, were selling out literally seconds after being posted. I've never seen anything like it. Blowout was breaking two cases at a time because people were getting frustrated that 4 boxes would be claimed instantly. There's no way in heck I'm buying one because I won't spend $520 on a dice roll, but it's a much better gamble than a box of Five Star, Q or National Treasures.
Also, avoid calling people you don't know a "used car salesman". Pretty sure it wasn't a complement.

The hobby is becoming one giant casino!
How soon before we see $50,000 packs?
$41,000 worth of secondary market grab bag.
Hobby = Casino.
Rip high end wax, flip everything to eBay, take loss (90% of the time) or gain (10% of the the time) then repeeat.
Lots of new "breakers" into the hobby over the past few years. Guys who barely watch sports, can barely pronounce player names, and only rip the wax to gamble for a big hit to slam back on eBay and make money on.
It is what it is, but what happens when secondary market values are so cheap that ROI becomes next to nothing? Do the deep-wallet breakers stop breaking and does the hobby collapse?
Or do these guys have endless bankroll to gamble with and don't really care about losing money. Would gladly lose money just for the 5% chance of making money?
At some point, the casino will have better odds! :D

Another trash bag product packaged in a basement. WHOO HOO But apparently since suckers/gamblers bought it its product of the year lol Anyone remember how fast heros of sport was selling out the first few days? Same trash different bag, zero creativity.

I got lucky and hit a Chris Paul Logoman BGS 9.5. I stayed up all night watching the rest of the breaks. Most did OK, a few made out big and some got killed.
ROI beats any product out right now (Especially these horrible new football releases), but Superbreak is still making a mint.
So many repack products out now... I'm going to release one with super slim margins and full transparency to show how much profit some of these guys are running away with.

The ODB was pulled and sold on eBay. So on this product, is someone buying these cards on eBay and then getting them graded and then marketing "Heavy Hitters?" Seems kind of lame, almost a scam. Not sure why anyone would buy this stuff. Legally, I think companies like Topps might have leverage in a court over the marketing of this product. Who's behind this?
Am I the only one that thinks that if you "invest" in this product you're paying an ultra premium for middle-high end cards? I saw someone break down what they'd do with $41,000k, surely if that was one individual they'd do better just buying what they wanted.
Sorry for venting, this hobby can get frustrating...

Right and the value of that case came from the super. So it wasn't 4 bad cards.
Brian at Leaf explained a while back why the repackaged is legal and ok to do. I can see why people do and don't like this product.
The ROI is better than most wax, but you are right you are going for hits that have already been sold. There are people that walked away very happy obviously today and last night from their hits.

The second case was probably worth about $1400ish. Only 1 card was worth the box price.
The first case was worth about $5200 assuming the OBJ is $5k.
Our second case was the worst case I have seen and the OBJ case is a top 10, but I have only seen 25% of the print run.

There will always be a place for repack products because there is always a surplus of gamblers and "investors".
I just find it hilarious that razzing has such a bad reputation on these boards and around the hobby when these "products" are almost exactly the same thing. You are tying to spend less money to get a higher return.
Brian at Leaf explained a while back why the repackaged is legal and ok to do.
Right, because those Tempy Moore sketches and Pete Rose IP base card autos add TONS of original value, right? ;) As much as I knock Leaf, at least they do put out original products.

I'm sure he and other repack products have made sure they are perfectly legal in what they are doing. It just puts a bad taste in my mouth that these repack "companies" are using another company's original product, putting a different wrapper on it, and calling it their "product".

I think the repack is made legal as long as they offer original content as well aka that one toploaded card you get in each box.

Total return from the breaks I saw at Blowout, Firehand and Rippingwax were much higher than what some posters have trolled in this thread.
However, it is hard to value BGS 10/10 and BGS 10 cards and other cards that do not have Ebay history. How do you value an Emmitt Smith 2014 Flawless Auto Patch /10 BGS 10? Non-Graded sells like 300+. $400, $500?, $750? $1000? It hasn't been tested yet.
I think that many of the graded cards were submitted by superbreak themselves so they were able to purchase raw cards and get them graded adding value to the card without paying much for the added value. This enhances their products return. They could easily hire a few people to go out and do this for the product.

Don't forget that BGS came to South Bay to do a RCR and accept submissions. If you wanted to bias the grading process (your grader sees exactly whose cards he's grading), you couldn't really create a better way.
