Maravich (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-08-UD-Artifacts-Triple-Artifacts-Pete-Maravich-NBA-Logo-Tag-Patch-BGS-1-1-/191531694131?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c982db833)
Not only did Maravich never wear a jersey with the NBA logo on the tag, the tag used here is a newer one

The worst part, is that is a 1/1, that is probably one of the rarer cards of maravich probably

I've seen this card IP in Minnesota at a show years ago and it's been discussed many times. Is there a possibility the tag was from a Legends game? Doubtful because the other half would have been used. UD labeled some cards on the use of the source material in some cases but I never saw the back of it. If faked, would love to see how it looked originally.

It couldn't have been a legends game, I don't think. I will do some research on that. Good idea.

where on the back of the card does it say Maravich wore the material?
A its a Pete Maravich Game Used Card
B the material has been certified to UD as Game worn
but it does not state like with older GU cards like for instance a 02-03 SP GU All star apparal Kobe Bryant:
''On the front of this card is an authentic piece of shorts worn by Kobe Bryant in a 2002 NBA All star event.''
see the Maravich as a way to include legends, with a good disclaimer to prevend accusitions of the patches being fake / not worn by the player pictured

That woukd defeat the whole purpose of these cards. That's like David sharp signing a kobe card and saying the autograph is certified authentic but doesn't have to be signed by kobe. Someone should twitt panini and see what they say about this card. I would also call out Bgs for grading it

With his prices you don't ever have to worry about it coming back into circulation...

I have no clue why he said Panini because its a UD card, lol. But he's saying BGS because they slabbed it as authentic, if the jersey doesn't check out. But I don't really understand that either because they are just grading the card, they aren't checking if if it is game-worn, from that area etc, as long as the card wasn't altered.

You are comparing two different things here though. Autographs can easily be recognized as a forgery; however, we have seen moments with companies who use jerseys cards like this to pull slick moves, and usually with older legends.

Considering his flawless patches of a verified jersey go for between $250 and $350 its safe to say that card isn't going to catch anyone.

"authentic" just shows you how closely they look at the cards....
