Hey all, I haven't followe Jackie too much, but after hearing about how good of a person he is, I decided to start a PC . I am wondering what you guys think the chances are he plays in Boston this year?

Also, I have a chance to buy an orange chrome auto, BGS 9/10.. There are no recent sales... In your expert opinions, what would be the sale value of this card?

Thanks!

Before Jones get here, I figured I'd help you out.

The chances Bradley Jr. plays full time in Boston this year are low ... very low. Betts has had a hot spring and will be the starting CF; Victorino and Craig who have sucked this spring will be platooning in right and Hanley will be in left. Castillo and Bradley Jr are the likely odd men out. One is likely to remain on the roster as a 5th OF, the other will be starting center-fielder for the Pawtucket Sox.

There's still chatter that Boston will make a run at Cole Hamels, and Bradley Jr is the likely extra OF that heads to Philadelphia if that happens; but that too is unlikely. The real only shot Bradley Jr. has of being a regular in Boston this season is if Victorino and Craig go down with injuries (which admittedly is quite possible).

Otherwise, Bradley has one option year left, and Boston will use it while they try to shop him for something they need in July; or security for their old outfield.

He will play in Boston (or somewhere in MLB) at some point this year. He is an elite defensive outfielder, would probably win a gold glove in CF if he played a full season. Bat needs to catch up to the glove, he hasn't hit a lick in the majors so far in his career.

Sox have so many good young OF, specifically Betts and Castillo, with Hanley, Victorino, and Craig too, that he has a hard time fitting in. Could see him getting traded and thriving somewhere else. Definitely a high character kid, and like I said one of the best defenders in the game. His arm is unreal.

Brilliant write-up... Thanks you! Any ideas what an orange BGS 9/10 would go for?

Take it from the guy that owns 16 Orange autos of Jackie Bradley Jr ...

I wouldn't pay more than $125 for it right now.

Rusney is 27 and signed a $70mil contract. Jackie will not be a starter on the Red Sox

Ok take this from a red sox fan.

He will NOT be starting what so ever. Even If the flying Hawaiian goes down, Allen Craig goes down and Nava goes down, he will NOT start. Rusney will take right field over JBJ.

JbJ will likely go to one of three teams by july. The Phillies, Alanta or the Reds.

JbJ=Cheap Rusney=Expensive.

Dude should have been gone already. Once Castillo was signed, and Betts was put in the OF, his days were numbered. And to be honest, he needs a different organization. Boston is not for him.

(Cincinnati is not an option as Hamilton is set in stone there. Atlanta and Philadelphia would be #1 and #1B options and because Bradley Jr. has no more options, he has to be gone before the deadline or the Sox risk getting nothing for him).

Dont get me wrong, I love the kid. He has a massive arm and has great defensive abilities. But he just cant hit to save his life. As you said different atmosphere will help him a ton

I forgot about Hamilton in cinci. Atlanta could be a very good fit for him I think.

Bradley Jr. hit .450 in the spring of '13, he got 30 AB's in the big leagues before being demoted until September. He hit .180 in the spring of '14, and Boston thought Sizemore was the second coming ... now he hits .400 this spring, and it's meaningless. The only way he was sticking with the club was if Betts and Castillo got hurt; his performance was non-consequential.

He would benefit from a fresh start and Boston could use some bull-pen depth. It's a glaring weakness right now with Koji out for who knows how long.

We'll see.
