Not sure if anyone else saw this artlice on ESPN, but BOY I hope this guy wins. The casino is sweating bullets and trying to scramble with coming up with the cash if this guy actually wins. In saying that, that guy has bigger you know whats then myself for making a bet like that even if he has a successful business.
Long story short, dude put down 20K on MSU to win the title at 50-1 odds early in the season and could be looking at clearing a cool Million if they win.

Now that is bold. Still this guy is lucky, who has 20k just to bet a long shot? Might as well bet 20k on Cavs when Lebron went back.

I hear ya, or buy 20,000 $1 dollar scratch offs, OR even $20K in wax for that matter.. LOLOL
He owns a couple casinos. A million dollar win will be a nice PR story for his brands, but won't be a life-altering event for him.

for sure its not going to send him or his business in the poor house if he loses, BUT I still would love to see him pull off the win to see how the other casino comes up with that much cash without interrupting the normal flow of their everyday business.

Kinda reminds me of the man who bet on the cardinals to win when odds were 1/500 and 1/999

He'd be an idiot not to hedge at this point... If he can find casinos to take such a big action

400K on Kentucky and like 100K each on Wisc and Duke?

As long as Duke loses, I don't care who wins.

You have to ensure you don't take any further financial risk so it actually may prove more difficult than I initially thought. Looking at the numbers on bovada, michigan st 8-1, duke +325, Wisconsin is +375, and Kentucky is -150.
He may actually have to wait and hope michigan st upsets Duke before he can hedge profitably. I ran the #s and it doesn't look like it's workable.

Just saw on Sportscenter that he hedged his bet to ensure he breaks even at the very worst. He bet Duke ML $49k to win $20k... so if MSU wins, he'll have to fire a big bet on kentucky/Wisconsin ML in the championship game to get back the original $20k bet and the now $49k hedge bet that he's making

Looking good for Michigan St so far. If Mich St wins the title, he will still walk away with a lot 800k or more.
