Any chance Rasheed Wallace makes the Hall of Fame?

I think he's got a shot. A good player for pretty much his whole career, which was 10 plus years. Not saying he'd be the first choice, but some of the guys inducted lately, i think he's got a shot.

The 03-04 Pistons were a hell of a team and I think he is the acquisition that put them over the top. I'm not sure I think he should be in but I think he's worth considering.

I'm not really a big Wallace fan. I was just curious because it seems like the HOF is letting in some players lately that I didn't think of as Hall of Famers.

I agree completely with what you're saying. Rasheed was a big game player that always stood up, similar to Horry but probably a better player.

His importance to his team.

He made the Trailblazers and Pistons a contender every year. Rasheed Wallace was traded to the trailblazers in the 96-97 season, the year before that, the Blazers made the playoffs…. But lost in the first round to the Utah Jazz. The year they got Rasheed they made it to the Western conference finals, but lost to the Lakers, second year of Wallace’s career, and he led his team to the Western conference finals. Not a lot of players have done that. Look at the teammates he had when he led them there that year.

The combo of Sheed and Big Ben stopped Shaq and Kobe from going off. I know people are going to say, “well Kobe and Shaq weren’t getting along.” Well that’s true, but they still made it to the finals. So if they could beat all those other teams, why couldn’t they beat the Pistons. Sure they probably would’ve beat the Pistons without Rasheed, but they couldn’t because Sheed was there. The Pistons made it to eastern conference finals every year Sheed was there. After he left in the 09-10 season guess what happened to the Pistons? They haven’t made the playoffs since. So this guy could make any team a contender, and can play any role. Wallace’s clutchness was the reason Detroit went to game 7 with the Spurs in the 05. His teammates always called him the team MVP.

To be a great PF you need to have a great post game, Rasheed Wallace has one of the greatest low post players of all time. Most people view Rasheed as 3 point shooter. No one could stop him, all the analysts used to say, “Rasheed should get in the post more, he’s unstoppable in there.” Which is true, he is unstoppable down there. Rasheed Wallace could shoot the 3 better than most guards could. Rasheed is a .337 career 3 point shooter, which is great for his size. He could shoot better then anyone in the top 5 PF of all time ( depending on your list)

And you have to admit, the fouls they used to call on him were stupid. The refs even admitted that they used to call pointless fouls on him. Anyways Sheed wanted to win, no matter what he wanted to be a winner. Probably more then anyone…. Ever. Yes I said EVER. More than MJ, Kobe, and all the other guys. He didn’t want the refs deciding the game for the teams. (they’ve been known to do that.) if he didn’t want to win that bad, he wouldn’t of went crazy on the refs. With Rasheed it wasn’t about stats, or being the number 1 guy, or having his jersey sold out. As Charlie Sheen said “it’s all about winning!” lol. When I hear a topic about the greatest trash talkers in NBA history, I always hear these names. “ Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, Gary Payton, ect. Never have I heard Sheed’s name come up. I don’t know why. He’s up there with all of them.

got_Sheed, I appreciate your passion and that he's obviously one of your favourite players, but unfortunately I think if it takes that many words to justify why someone should be in the HOF (which I am assuming you're in favour of) then that probably means they shouldn't be. Let's face it, getting into the HOF is based on accolades, and sure, Sheed has a Title and some AS appearances under his belt, but so do lots of players who aren't and never will be in the HOF.

The year the blazers made it to the conference finals they had a STACKED squad led by pippen, not sheed. B. Grant was no chump either and he split a lot of mins with sheed. S. Smith, schrempf, stoudamire. Great team and they were robbed by a rigged league that wanted the Lakers to win.

There's nothing more frustrating than the guy with all the talent to be great but is too busy blazing the green sh*t to be special.

Any power forward would struggle to guard Sheed due to his post skill and range, but he didn't lead anybody. He was a role player, like I said earlier, better than Horry but in the same mould.

And I'm a huge fan.

I'm lost..... We got sheed in 96-97 yes but we made the WCF in 98-99 vs the Spurs with a very deep team with jimmy jackson, Damon, and Rider. Made the WCF again in 99-00 vs the Lakers and we don't need to talk about that series... Still sad about that.
