Cool to see the game growing in Canada. It'll be broadcast on TSN (and i'm sure to be found other places on the net) and feature Thon Maker, Justin Jackson, Matur Maker to name a few.

Let's get this right. Thon is Australian. Not Canadian.

He's enrolled in a Canadian institution hence part of the All-Canadian game. Just like Wiggins was an "All-American" because he was enrolled in a US institution. As an aside there has been talk that he and his brother may both seek Canadian citizenship and move the rest of their family here from the Sudan.

ARGHHHHH!!!!!!! NO. I hope not anyway.
Hopefully he stays as an Australian as he grew up here from the age of 5.
Sudanese are very common asylum seekers in Australia and I would hate to see him turn his back on the country that gave them a chance at a better life.

I saw an interview where he basically said he "loves Australia" but "Canada feels like home" and that he's going to have some really big life desicions to make over the next few years. He also said it's likely a decision to be made in tandom with his brother - where one goes, so does the other.
Personally i think he goes where ever the best opportunity for him is Australia, Canada, US. I don't think he has any real allegience at this point. He's lived 5 years in the Sudan, 9 in Australia, 2 in US and 1 in Canada now.

Yeah I wouldn't really be mad.
The Sudanese have a lot of athletic ability. Some are making their way in to our sporting teams already. He looks like a KG type, amazing.
I agree, best opportunity will decide, Australia has some good players at the moment so he may have a better chance with the Canadian team even though Canada ball is strong at the moment also.

Not sure about Canada being a better chance. There's a good chance they'll be cutting NBA players this time around.
Current Canadian NBA Players:
Joel Anthony
Anthony Bennett
Samuel Dalembert
Tyler Ennis
Cory Joseph
Andrew Nicholson
Kelly Olynyk
Dwight Powell
Robert Sacre
Nik Stauskas
Tristan Thompson
Andrew Wiggins
Sim Bhullar
And I'd guess two more from this draft. I think there are 8 Aussies?

At the big positions these guys are terrible except for TT.
Baynes and bogut are established internationals.

Bogut is better than all of your bigs.
Baynes is better than sacre.
Olynyk is better than Baynes.
Dalembert is almost dead. I might as well mention luc longley if you're saying dalembert.
Either way, I'm not sure why you think Canada ball is so strong, most of those guys are barely NBA players.
I'm yet to see any advantage for the Makers to become naturalized Canadians.

Really? Where are the world beaters on this list?
Cameron Bairstow
Aron Baynes
Andrew Bogut
Matthew Dellavedova
Dante Exum
Joe Ingles
Patty Mills
The Strength in Canadian basketball is the Depth thats being developed.
Dalembert is almost dead. I might as well mention luc longley if you're saying dalembert.
Dalembert is only 3 years older than Bogut?

Canada doesn't have top level talent yet but they're on the rise. The youth that we have beats out a lot of other countries. I'm not sure how you're arguing that Australia has a better team then Canada.

Yawn, this is getting painful.
Aus are certainly no world beaters but we have played off for a couple of bronze medals at Olympics.
Where did you finish at the last world champs?
we have the same depth being developed.
The only difference would be Wiggins in the future.
I really can't be bothered, Canada Bball is primed. Especially if you manage to snake Maker.

Oh you're right, cause Wiggins, Stauskas, Ennis, Bhullar and Powell were all there right? There will be a huge difference with the next national team.

He's talking current. It's a valid argument.
