Hey Guys n gals
Couldn't find a thread on this but I see the NBA is going to start HGH testing starting next season
first positive test - 20 game ban, 2nd - 45, 3 strikes and your out (dimissed)
Anyone think there are going to be many that get affected by this???

This will be interesting. I have a feeling that only the scrubs will be caught. Would be amazing if Lebron and other high end stars actually are found to be using this stuff.

Lol why do you ever post on this forum? But anyway a guy who didn't even drink on his 21st birthday I'm sure he's a guy who would take roids...LOL
NBA tests for marijuana and they never suspend anyone and multiple guys admit to smoking so nobody will get into any trouble if your a big time guy.

I think he'd be one of the least likely players in the NBA to use HGH.

Interesting... Lebron would be the one to watch. Bill Simmons and others have insinuated PEDs and Lebron for an awful long time. It's plausible, but I have a hard time imagining the NBA punishing its biggest superstar even if he was caught.

I think this announcement is exactly why LeBron "slimmed down" to prolong his career.

Be careful posting negative stuff of AD. There's a lot of woody's on this site for him and they don't take kindly to anything but praise of him.

Ron Artest would've been my guess if he was still in the league.

Honestly, this is huge. I know there has been pushback.
I won't speculate but I'd suspect a few guys benefit from it

For those who think Lebron is or was on hgh remember he was tested for the summer Olympics and results would have shown up there. With good genetics, nutrition, training, and the supplements available nowadays you can accomplish what he has physically with hard work

As for busting stars, I'll believe it when I see it. Is there even a reliable test for HGH yet? Seriously does anyone know if HGH is even detectable? As far as I know it is not really detectable..Maybe in the first 24 hours after using but as far as I know the chemical trace is stored in the blood so it gets cleaned out by the body quite fast. Similar to testing for cocaine maybe?
I have no inside info or anything but I would imagine a lot of athletes are on or have taken HGH. It is for sure a factor in todays sports. It is hard to bust someone though unless there is a whistle blower or if they are dumb enough to use it a few days before they get tested.
I think a lot of dudes can and do get away with doing "cycles" in their off season or in university. In the 80s and 90s it was roids now it is HGH and oxygen chambers. What next? A few negative test can just mean the guy is good at not getting caught.
If your not cheating your not trying! SMH

Whatever helps you sleep :D
Seriously though, the eye test isn't the end all. Didn't Hedo test positive for something lol? He and Wade's jawline is off the chain though :)!

Well overdue, bans are a bit of a joke. 20 games, then only 45?
If you get caught once, why in the hell, if you were dumb enough to do it again, would they give you another chance?

Maybe that's the reason Dwight Howard's body has been breaking down for the past few years..
Is it too late to bust the mailman?

Yes, too late for mailman, but not too late for Lebron. I think Lebron stopped at the beginning of the year , slimmed down, but couldn't play above the rim. He went back on, got bigger again and the Cavs started rolling. Maybe Arod all over again, but for the NBA, LOL.

They do and they haven't caught anyone, which makes me think the NBA won't either.

Have you guys never been to a gym before? People can add muscle without being on anything, especially people who's job is essentially to work-out. There aren't even any crazy big guys in the league like there were in the 90's with Malone and Robinson. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if like 50% of the league was on something (it would be tough to play 82 games + playoffs without something aiding recovery), I just don't think some guys being muscular makes it any more likely that they're taking HGH.

You are correct
Hgh is better for recovery than muscle building
I don't understand why they test for hgh. Wouldn't you want your star players especially recover faster from an injury. Instead of being out 4 weeks, the guys out 2 weeks.
I would take deer antler spray when my shoulder just felt shredded. Next thing ya know, my shoulders healed. it doesn't quite compare to hgh as you would need like a thousand drops just to equal 1 injection of hgh. But it works. Leave hgh in the game. It's best for business!

The NBA should crack down on PEDs but like the OP indicated the issue is a bigger problem in MLB. It is also a joke when the players know when they are going to be tested.

I'm pretty convinced that D12 is on something...
*The knock on him growing up was always that he was too skinny to play in the NBA. Motive.
*His physique(obviously). He looks like a classic ectomorph on gear. Eye test.
*His huge deltoids. People who know about PEDs will understand the science behind this. Androgen receptors, etc.
*The fact that his body changes so much in the off season and even, at times, during the season. His muscles shrink and he looks very flat at times. Then, you'll see him later on and he's not holding any water at all. More muscular and ripped to shreds.
