Was stupid and got scammed after sending gift payment. Immediately after sending payment and the other user being unresponsive, I had realized what happened. I also felt like nothing could be done. I opened a paypal claim as my only option and a day later I received an email saying I would be refunded in full. Has this ever happened to any of you? I through for sure it would be a lost cause.

TLDR - sent gift and got scammed, got refunded through paypal. Has this ever happened to any of you?

what kind of claim did you open? Didnt think it was possible...

I got a $500 gift payment from an ebay deal last week... I wanted to meet in person but Buyer was busy and said all risk is on me since he sent gift... should I be worried of a chargeback or somthing? Didnt think you could open a dispute with gift? Atleast thats what he told me...

Wow, that is pretty lucky if you ask me. Some guy sent me a direct payment friends and family to ship a high end product overnight..$1500...I am trustworthy but explained don't do this going forward because there is no recourse and the next guy might try and pull a fast one...he said "there is always recourse"...(and he was not a rookie buyer)

But I did this one time and PP told me i was SOL because F&F there is not protected plain and simple...and luckily the guy sent th card after a few weeks and said he was in the hospital - but I had no leg to stand on if he blew me off - and will never do that again to try and save and few bucks - not worth the drama at all

I got refunded a gift payment about a year ago... I bought a card off a guy on here never received it, called paypal and told them what happened.... I think what possibly saved me was I noted what card it was for....

I made a side deal on ebay last week for a couple hundred dollars, and immediately realized the potential issue after I sent the payment as a gift (which the seller requested). I sweated it out for a few days wondering if this dude was gonna scam me, and he legitimately could have, but he ended up sending the cards. Even knowing you got your money back, I'll never do that again to save $10.
