The hobby’s biggest card recorded another big sale this weekend.

It’s a PSA 3 copy of the 1909 T206 Honus Wagner and it was part of the annual Robert Edward Auctions sale that ended Saturday night. After 42 bids, it sold for $1.1 million and that excludes a 20-percent buyer’s premium that raised the sale to $1.32 million.

The card carries a Sweet Caporal back.

Last fall, a PSA 1 Wagner with the same back but much more damage sold for $403,664, while Goodwin & Co. sold an SGC 40 for $1.23 million on April 20, 2012.

A PSAA 5 (MC) copy of the card set the high bar recently with a $2.1 million sale in 2013.

I like peaches.

Both things have nothing to do with basketball though

i'm ok with monumental or record breaking sports card news being posted across other sports.
It's an exception for an exceptional auction

The hoops were made out of peach baskets back when Honus was lacing them up. So there. :coffee:
