Spears: Aldridge For Griffin Sign-And-Trade Has Been Rumored - RealGM Wiretap (http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/237733/Spears-Aldridge-For-Griffin-Sign-And-Trade-Has-Been-Rumored)

LaMarcus Aldridge will be a free agent this offseason and Yahoo's Marc J. Spears reported that he's heard rumors about a potential sign-and-trade with the Los Angeles Clippers for Blake Griffin.

Griffin was drafted by former Clippers' GM Neil Olshey, who is now with the Blazers.

Griffin has an early termination option in 2017.

"This is a rumor. Let me say that three times. This is a rumor. This a rumor. This is a rumor," said Spears on John Canzano's radio show.

"Blake Griffin.

"Obviously, there’s a connection there with the GM. And you wonder, if LaMarcus is interested in the Clippers, playing with Chris Paul. Could Neil Olshey get his old superstar with the Clippers in Portland?

"I think you get to a point where – Neil is smart. You’ve got to have a come-to-Jesus meeting with LaMarcus and say, “Hey, do you really want to be here or do you think you want to go. Because if you really want to go, help us – the same way Steve Nash helped the Suns. Don’t just walk away. Try to help out Portland in the process."

lol Clippers would be out their mind to do that, I see zero chance of that happening. Griffin is younger, more athletic, and can run the floor and distribute the ball like a pg.

If there is any merit to this, I will laugh so hard at LA's front office.

Oh wow. This would be the perfect case scenario for the Blazers..

Yes, I really think Clippers are talking trades while they are about to go 2-1 in the WCSF

Not in a million years, Griffin is light years ahead. They do not need Lemarcus

I literally cannot think of a single reason the Clippers would want to do this.

GTFO, I like Aldridge but he's older AND Griffin is hitting his prime years. Never mind the Clips are in the playoffs. Sounds like some mind game the Rockets are playing.

Marc Spears hears the sources no one else does, because they don't really exist.

The source is everyone in the blazers organization because they would love for that to happen. This is probably the single stupidest thing I have ever read. Is this from the onion? The clippers wouldn't trade Blake for anyone in the league other than maybe Anthony Davis if they got the Pelicans to include Ryan Anderson too plus a draft pick. So he's not being traded and probably will play his whole career with lac. And Marc spears apparently talks about this in a serious manner? Like by explaining it from portlands perspective it will actually make the trade actually happen. This is mindbogglingly stupid.

What a waste of time this report is.

Joke.

As most above stated... This is laughable at best. I just saw a stat that said Blake griffin is top 6 in ppg, rebounding and assists in the playoffs this year. You're usually stoked if you're guy is top in 1 or 2 of those categories
