Like the title says...would you rather have a patch auto but auto is on a sticker, or a just a regular on card auto w/o any patch?
Many of Panini's patch autos (like select) have sick patches but sticker autos...that always somewhat ruins it for me.
Just want to hear some of your opinions...

Absolutely nothing to do with stickers! They are HORRIBLE and instantly destroys a card. I have never seen a "nice" sticker card. 20 years from now the stickers will be falling off these cards.
NO STICKERS!

I was thinking the same thing...until I saw Panini select's prime patch autos (tie dyes, gold, etc) the patches are cool, just not the sticker autos--which gave me the idea for this thread.

On card all the way. Not only do I despise stickers I do not trust any company that these are game worn patches.

On card. I have a strong dislike for sticker autos.

On card is the way to go. If you get a sticker that's autographed and stick it on a ball, does that make it become a signed ball? Nah... not so much... so, with cards I feel similar denigration in the integrity of the item from an aesthetic standpoint.
Sure, sticker autographs are industry standards and accepted norms within the hobby, but that doesn't mean everyone likes 'em nor loves 'em.
I think eventually there's going to be a bigger backlack on sticker autographs, and especially when it comes to those incomplete signatures that trail off the stickers so if graded by BGS would be an 8 or a 9.

On card auto absolutely. Patches only meam a part of design of a card and nothing related to the player. I wont trust so call "it is guaranteened to us that..." so who guaranteen actually?

???What about the auto? Did any of us witness the actual player held and signed it? Could be his cousin, mom, agent, etc...there are no guaranteeds in this world.

So upper deck has a better description that the card is autographed in the presence of a representative of the upper deck....

Agreed, I'd take the on card auto over the sticker auto patch card without question.
I own approximately 500 autographed cards and, other than a couple of Bowman 48 sticker autos that I have kept for nostalgic reasons, this is the only sticker auto in my collection:

If a card must have a sticker on it, then the sticker really has to 'blend in' to the design of the card and be inconspicuous. Otherwise it completely ruins the card.
Cards with stickers and patches are generally too cluttered to pass the eye test, thus detracting hugely from their appeal, in my opinion.
That said, sticker autos are a great way for collectors on a budget to afford autographs of their favourite players.

On card all of the way.. and I mean truly on card..
This imo is not on card and is a bigger scam then the stickers.. at least the stickers are being upfront with what they are!
I actually hate these more then stickers..

What I have never been able to understand is the value of the Exquisite and Ultimate cards. Most of them are on-card autos and are way undervalued compared to their sticker counter-products. Just makes no sense to me......

For my PC I definitely prefer on-card autos, but I have noticed that, for the most part, sticker autos come from low-mid range products and on-card autos come from mid-high range products.
As for busting packs, I prefer the thrill I get with a big name sticker auto vs a high end on-card auto. The odds are much worse with the lower end brands, as far as pulling a big name.

On card auto every time. Easy question.

I'd probably go with on card auto, depending on the patch though. I am more of a patch guy than an auto guy. However I would take a sticker auto any day over those stupid cards with manufactured patches, that have autos on the manufactured patch that is the absolute worst in my book with Jumbo sticker autos being a close second.
*EDIT*
I think the Select Patch autos this year are pretty nice, sticker and all. They did a pretty good job getting the sticker to blend in imo.

Everyone's opinions here make good points...now I'll change the question up a bit: would you rather have a sticker auto card #/10 or an on card auto #/99 of the same player?

Definitely on-card /99. However, the if the sticker /10 is worth more, I'd get that, then sell it to buy an on card /99 and be happy with the profit :)
I don't have 1 sticker auto in my entire collection. I don't care who it is... if its a sticker its for sale.

On card autographs, unless the stickers blend in well (more like personal preferences though).

Easy, On card /99. I'd even take a /99 over a 1/1 sticker auto every time.

On card /399 over sticker 1/1.

This. Assuming all the patches are fake but not applying the logic to the autos is silly.
