I have a Fleer 86 box, let's say it's worth ~100. How do you mail these things?

Lots pf packing peanuts, placed inside another box, then possibly another, larger box. Make sure it's written not to crush on the outside.

Writing that honestly doesn't do squat in a post office. Cause most cases they are loaded in containers called BMC's then dumped onto a rotating belt where other mail can be dumped on it too. Then it goes around the belt and then dumped into another container where more packages get dumped in it too there for more heavier boxes could land on it. There is no safe way to keep things from not crushing. Even if you write fragile or do not crush the mail employees honestly don't care if it's crushed or not. That's why most people invest in the insurance. Only thing that you honestly can trust.

Can you open it up (flat) without ripping the box?

Place in a large box with packing peanuts inside and outside.
Correct: writing notes on the package does nothing. Automatic sorters and conveyers do most of the work and they don't read that information. "do not bend' might keep the delivery person from bending to fit into your mailbox, but that is about it.
I think many people believe that bubble mailers are handled by tinker bells with care and grace. When in reality they are dumped into bins with 100s of items and sorted my machines. I still don't understand why so many sellers fail to take advantage of three ounces or less costing the same. Cut up some cardboard and include it.
