help with a possible Joe Smith error card

I was wondering if you could help me figure out if a card I found is an error card, and how rare it is of so.

I've been sitting on this for years bc I thought it was a cool card.

it's a 1996 spx #17 Joe Smith. which according to every active and ended ebay listing I could find, and Beckett listings, comc listings, etc, the card is supposed to look like the beckett image I provided.

but, the card I have (holding it in my hand in the pic), has Joe Smith on the left, and the hologram part is of magic Johnson!

at first I thought maybe it was an idol's kinda card where they show the player that Smith liked. but the back doesn't say anything about magic at all (also included a pic of the back)

I'm guessing they seen the #32 on the Jersey and put the wrong image on? I've never seen another surface so I assume it's pretty rare.

any help at all is greatly appreciated.

thats actually quite cool, clearly looks like a mistake ? or is there some sort of parallel for somereason that has magic in it ? hahahaha

This is not uncommon.

But this error can be a big deal. I know the Jordan with McDyess in the background was a must have card amongst the Jordan collectors back in the day.

I'm not sure if you'll get any kind of premium if selling. But it is kinda cool.

yea I know. there's all different types of errors out there and values range to next to nothing, to a new house lol.

I contacted a few guys at beckett and waiting to hear back. hopefully someone there will have more info on it.

have no idea lol. I've searched every where and,haven't found one like it. I've had it for about 5 years. I got from a bulk purchase at a yard sale. was a huge 5 or 6 row box. the bigger stars had been cherry picked so it was mostly commons and such. there was quite a few of the spx cards and I was always into holo cards as a kid and that's why I kept them. and that one had magic on it and obviously didn't belong on it lol.

Like I said, these are not uncommon.

The Jordan was worth a bit due to the lack of rare Jordan's in the 90s.
