Was tempted to bid on these but am skeptical about the authenticity. The serial # doesn't appear on UD's database but that's the case for some of the camp signed stuff. What do people think ?

Not too sure. I would say fake. Unless those shoes were worn all season, they look like they were used for streetball rather than on the court. I might be wrong as game conditions were much different then and now but its just my opinion.

One would expect better condition, Jordan would wear a new pair of shoes every game. They look super beat up.

Yea thus far my conclusion was they are fake so stayed away. Had people trusted their authenticity these would have cracked north of 10k by now

Agree with what others have said. The shoes show wear that's well beyond a few games on the hardwood. It's still curious that the UDA certificate specifically says 'game used' but offers no additional explanation.

no picture of COA + low feedback + must pay same day -> I also conclude these are fake.

The poor English on the UDA also had me skeptical. If you read it again you'll notice it. That was actually the reason I first got suspicious

That's a very good point. I noticed it on the "This...", but there's multiple instances of errors.

Now that you mention the bad English on the COA the auto also looks very suspect, very untidy.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the UDA COA's from his camps say that they are from Santa Barbara. They just say that they are unlimited signed items. I could be wrong, but a lot of this smells funny.

just looked through a few hundred pictures (on google) of jordan from 92-94 era, and could not find any of him in black shoes with purple on them. no idea why he would ever have worn purple in a game

He wore these for sure, Jordan VII Black/Dark Charcoal-True Red this was an OG 1992 release.
As far as them being authentic game worn, I highly doubt that. Between the abused condition of the shoes, and the wonderful wording on the COA :coffee:
Here is a photo of MJ wearing them

Just to compare condition, here is another pair of game worn VII's, notice the condition. MJ would have a fresh pair every game. The ones in this listing are 100% authentic original Air Jordans, but as someone else mentioned it looks like they were worn to play street ball. I cant see that much wear just from 1 NBA game.

Here is another game worn pair, these are VIII's but once again notice the condition. They could almost pass for new.

The pair linked in the auction above do not match the style of shoe in the OP's linked auction. There are differences in colors.

I am well aware of that, its a comparison of condition, not colors. I was showing what a typical pair of used game worn shoes may look like. The colors make no difference in making my point.

I know but if the ones in the OP's auction were legit, wouldn't they match? Doesn't the different colors mean they're a retro release?

No, both links I provided were original Jordans not retro. First pair I posted were Original VII's in the Bordeaux color, which he wore during the 1992 All Star game.
Perhaps read the article, it may clear things up a bit more for you.

Not YOUR links the OP's link. If you look at the auction he's questioning the sneakers don't look like the pair in the auction you linked.

Both are same shoe Jordan VII
Both are same Year 1992
Both are "game worn"
Only difference is colors, colors mean nothing when I am just trying to show him what a typical pair of game worn shoes may look like from 1992.
I also added a link to a game worn pair of Jordan VIII, which released in 1993, those are a different model I know, but once again, I am just showing what a typical game worn pair looks like, they should look fairly new, not like they've been worn 100 times.

Jordan only wore a 13?
Interesting.

Could just be some horrible pictures.
The size "13" on the side of the shoe matches the way PE's were done back in the 90's. All of Jordan's game used shoes I have seen had the size stamped into the shoe like that.
The shoes do look overly used. I don't think Jordan wore a new pair of shoes each game as that would not be good on his feet, as shoes do require a break in time. However these shoes look as if they have been worn outside, which clearly Jordan would not have done.
The colorway of the shoe is what he wore back then despite what some have said in this thread. That is an OG colorway. Just because a shoe has been retro'd does not mean that it is a colorway that Jordan never wore. In fact up until lately it meant the exact opposite. Now, yes, there are alot of new colorways coming out that he never wore.
The signature looks on point as well, but I agree with what was already said about the COA. It's wording is awful and just doesn't seem right.

I am pretty sure it's new shoes for every game, they even change shoes as needed during a game. All professional basketball players use custom made orthotic insoles, that whole break in period isn't needed when you have custom built insoles. Also that "13" on the inside of the shoe isn't just normal for a "PE" that was done on most OG Jordans and Nikes. Anyone who had OG VII's would have the shoe size on the inside like that. (I am recently retired but hard core Air Jordan collector since about 1999)
