I agree, it's been stated that Cespedes loves playing here and playing with Miguel, if he left I would fully expect us to make a run at him in the offseason. By trading Price, Cespedes, Soria, Rajai, you can rebuild in one year and just miss the playoffs this year. This move is necessary for the long term future.

Although price is great, I hope a team doesn't break the prospect bank to get a rental... Thinking about Oakland here giving up Russell and others to get a couple of pitchers who didn't even factor into to the lose of one game that kept them out of the playoffs. I like the new playoff system, but it's important for wild card teams to remember you can't sell out for a chance at the playoffs that hinges on a single game.

Price to the Dodgers for Van Slyke, Guerrero, and either Ethier or Crawford (with salary relief).

Cespedes to the M's for Paxton

In the offseason sign an ace.

They can't give up and rebuild IMO while they still have Miggy VMart and Kinsler, they need to go for it next year, so they should trade for big league talent.

They probably can only get a B/B+ prospect for each of them since both of their contracts run out in 2015.

Perhaps they will package of bunch of expiring contracts together and get one top prospect.

They can definitely get one top-tier prospect for a half-season of Price from a team in win-now mode. Look at the prices that other teams have paid for similar rentals in the past couple years. If the Cubs can get Russell and McKinney for a 1.5 year rental of Samardzija and 0.5 of Hammel, and the Sox can get an extra year of Cespedes and a high draft pick for Lester, I have to imagine Price can fetch one stud prospect.
