Sorry if there has already been a thread on this, but I haven't seen one for the AL, so I figured I would make one! What's everyone's thoughts on the AL Rookie of the Year race? To me, there's a few guys that should be in contention:

Carlos Correa- He's been fantastic, but will he have had enough games under his belt to be in consideration?

Devon Travis- Played really well the first half of the year, but then got injured and hasn't made as much noise since

Miguel Sano- Pitchers pitch to him like he's a 10 year veteran, but he strikes out a lot and also hasn't had many games in the bigs yes

Eddie Rosario- Guy has quietly been a very solid starter for nearly the entire year. Don't know if enough people know about him yet tho

Billy Burns- Very, very solid year, but no real eye popping stats

Mike Montgomery- A couple of amazing starts, but really nothing impressive outside of those few starts

Eduardo Rodriguez- Solid pitcher, especially for a rookie, but doesn't really look like ROY material

Probably leaving out an obvious name or two, so don't jump down my throat if I am. But, curious to hear everyone's thoughts on the AL Rookie of the Year race. I'm really not sure who my favorite is yet, other than a batter. Rookie batters seem stronger than rookie pitchers in the AL this year. So, thoughts? Discuss!

I think i's Correa and it's not even all that close. Correa already leads AL rookies in WAR even with the lack of playing time. I expect that by year's end he'll be the no doubt choice.

I would add Nathan Karns and Lance McCullers to the mix at least

His limited MLB experience is the only thing keeping me from saying he is far ahead from everyone else

Karns and McCullers are good names- Didn't think of them

So far Correa has been the best rookie in the AL. They're still two months to play, so he has time to falter or continue you to rise. If he continues to rise, he has to win IMO.

But he already has numbers better than those with more at bats. It really is Correa far and away with McCullers a distant 2nd in my opinion

I don't understand the limited experience thing. He's put up the best numbers. Been the most valuable by advanced stats. From an at-bats standpoint, really only Billy Burns has played the full season.

I say Correa takes it, especially since it's looking like the Astros will be making the playoffs for the first time in years (although I don't agree that team performance should play a role in determining individual awards).
