I got the idea to make this thread after I saw Jacktheripper do it...But basically same thing. At the Pirates game, I'm sitting down the left field line, and at the Nationals, I'm sitting right behind the bullpen (I've never sat in the outfield before; will relievers sign autographs? I have a Papelbon jersey and I figured I might as well try and get it signed).

So basically, does anyone have any tips for getting autographs, what things to see, where to go, and basically any advice you have!

Thanks guys!

I've been to both but I don't remember much.

I've seen relievers sign after the game when they are on their way back to the clubhouse, especially if there aren't many fans nearby (not at a Nats game). It's more likely when the bullpen is on the field, but it's still possible there. I doubt they would sign on their way out there and I don't think they are allowed to sign in the middle of the game. He obviously won't be there at the end of the game if he pitches, so your best chance is if the Nats are getting blown out.

Just the usual advice: get there early, go for the away team, etc. I do remember that the Nats have a place in left field that sells boardwalk fries that were really good, but I really like boardwalk style fries so your perception of them may vary.

I doubt you'll have a shot at Pap. You're best bet would be during the end of Nat's BP when the gates open. Pap generally doesn't leave the club house for the 'pen until the 4th inning or so. Anywho the Miller Lite Scoreboard has 'cheap' beers ($6) until first pitch.

I was a Nationals season ticket holder for a few years. It's difficult getting autos at Nats park since general admission isn't open during their batting practice. If you sit near the dugout, you might get lucky and get a few autos right before or after the game. The ushers can be very strict at Nats park, not allowing people who don't have tickets near the dugout in that section. Another option is to hang out by the players parking lot and entrance before and after the game. I know a few guys who've scored some autos that way.

Each season the Nats have a season ticket holder appreciation day where the ticket holders are allowed on the field. Players will come out and walk around meeting folks. I went to this twice and scored probably a dozen or more autos each year on cards and balls. Most of the big name players, such as Harper, don't sign a lot. I know this doesn't help you, but just FYI.

Awesome, thanks for the help! I'll have to try out those fries!

Ah gotcha. What time do the gates open? And I'm not old enough for beer lol.

Thanks man! Do you know if Harper signs at the parking lot?
