I had been using Gixen for a while now. But for the past two weeks it has crapped out on me and wont snipe anymore. I have lost 3 pretty big cards for the Pc due to this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app but it still isnt working. So I am thinking I may have to move on and use something different. So what else do you guys use that seems to work, free is better.

I was about to say Gixen. I've never had an issue with their sniping service, thus far.

I have never had a problem with Gixen and I have been using it for years on just about anything big.
Rule number 1: DON'T USE AN APP! Apps suck and many times, the info is stored locally rather than on a server with a more reliable connection. There is no reason to use an app for Gixen.
Just log onto the website and put your info in there. You won't have any issues. They have a mobile site so it is phone friendly too.
Like I said, I have used Gixen for years and never missed a snipe... Not once.

Their website is where I downloaded app (well technically a forum the guy posted it in). But you mean they have their own site to login like any other company and can do it that way? Does that also mean if my internet goes down the snipe will still occur because its on their servers and network, not mine?

Not so easy to pull phone out at work to bid on an item, nor am I staying up til 2-3 Am when I have to get up at 5 for work. If I able to bid on it I always would set my snipe then monitor incase something like this happens. It hadn't up until the last two weeks, all 3 of which items I was unable to monitor the few second countdowns.

I decide my max and bid it and let it ride. Snipe doesn't work if your max is lower than the other guys.

Yeah but it lowers the chance of me being shilled by about 99%.

Yes. It is stored on their server. They also have a "deluxe" mirror service that will be stored on two different servers in different timezones and it is refreshed hourly.

Yes.
Go to Gixen.com and log in with your eBay user name and PW. Then just enter the item ID and max price... Done.
Keep in mind, if you change your eBay password between the time you set a snipe and the end of the auction, you need to reset your snipe. Gixen uses your eBay info to bid for you.

Also, I think the only way you should be able to use the app is if you bought the mirror service. Maybe that is why the app isn't working for you.

I never bought the mirror service and it worked for me before. Now that I think about it, we had a storm roughly two weeks ago and the power went out. Since then is when it hasn't been working. Pretty ironic, but oh well. That said, I am going to just try the website and if it works, thats good enough for me. Thanks!

I use Myibidder. Never had an issue, and I use the app on my phone and iPad.

Well, I used the actual Gixen website last night on a Probstein auction, two positives. The first, it worked, it took my bid and snipe. Second, the card went for under my max and the BGS 9.5 copy /25 only went for $10 more than the raw /75 version, so I am happy :).
