Since he is about to enter 2016 HOF, I'd like to add him to my HOF collection, what would be his most desirable rookie or rarest rookie variant?

I see a lot of sales for his 1991 Stadium Club, maybe ones in PSA 10 is the go-to rc for him?

His 1992 Stadium Club seems to outsell the 1991 rc, is it because it is short-printed?

thanks!

Value wise I think his Wild Card high numbered parallels are his best rc.

I think the PSA + BGS population report combined is 35 for this RC

The 92' Stadium Club was the premium set of the day and it was his 1st GB Packer uniform card.

I don't think it's because it's more rare, since in that era most cards were over printed. I think it was because it's his first card in a Packers uniform.

I wasn't really buying FB cards then. It was all baseball with 89' UD Griffeys/1990 Leaf Frank Thomas/92' Bowman & 1993 Finest!

In the past year there have been quite a few counterfeits of this card sold on Ebay. They were created with a replica embossing die by a forger from Tennessee.

i may be mistaken - there seems to be several of these available.
back in the mid 90's these were not easy to find.

Yes - Galen Ketron... the same guy who counterfeits Ali autos, Favre autos, Jeter autos and on and on.

Back when these came out I was hearing only 300 cases of the High series were printed at I think 16 boxes a case. Fairly limited run.

I would recommend buying several Super Bowl stamped cards of common players to use as reference guides before purchasing a Favre version. That way you can use them as an accurate visual specimen for the position and location, crimp pressure, and dimension (look at the design and shape with a magnifying glass for any minute discrepancies). If there is anything that seems different about the Favre from your several common player versions then you can return the card for a refund and claim the embossed stamp is counterfeit.

There is another thread on Blowout to use as an example on how to spot a fake embossed card here: http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/football/878278-bigboydsportscards3-has-muhammad-ali-counterfeit-1992-pro-line-auto-ebay-proof.html
Ebay seller bigboyd purchased one of Ketron's counterfeit Muhammad Ali 1992 Pro Line autograph cards and once given proof of it being a fake, he returned it for a refund and left negative feedback to warn other buyers that the seller is a counterfeiter. The seller was keltdockins which is one of Galen Ketron's accounts.

A while back, Galen Ketron purchased quite a few Favre 1991 Stadium Club plain base cards over the period of a few months using several of his Ebay accounts. Soon after, he began selling "rare" Super Bowl stamped versions on a regular basis. Once he was caught doing this he used consignment sellers to sell them (IMAC sold around 6 or 7 in the span of a month or two and denied the cards were consigned from the same person).

The sale prices have dropped considerably on the cards due to the influx of so many counterfeits.

I wonder how many of the counterfeits got past the grading companies because there seems to be far too many of these floating on the Bay for what you would think is a deep in the PC type of card.

Can you please explain to me the different versions of the Wild card? I see some with 1st Edition and some with different numerical values at the bottom left.

Wild card would let you trade the base ones, that say 1st edition, for a 5 stripe 10 stripe etc. So if you had 5 base you could exchange for a 5 stripe.

If you pulled a 5, 10, 50, 100, or 1000 stripe you could exchange those for the same amount of base, 1st edition, cards in return. It was pretty much the first real parallel made. The 1000 stripe is pretty rare.
