Just curious as to what you all are doing- I've got a few quality Bryant cards and was debating on whether I put them on eBay or wait until a potential playoff run?

Sold all my KB in ST. If you had it then, that would have been the time to sell.

Hahaha, no sorry- I'm a baseball-only guy (that will open a football pack every blue moon in hopes of an Auburn Grad)
Wait for the playoff run, his blue auto sold for around 250 last night
That's what I'm thinking, was just curious on others thoughts...

The card was trimmed. His raw autos are down to around 200-225 though. Wait until the playoffs, imo.

I sold my black wave auto in ST - got $863 for it. Raws were getting $1,200 in June. I think June was the peak

If you are going to bring that up make sure to add in ALL the details as to why it sold that low...

It is funny to see how everyone is reacting so early... It's been less than a year and people are hold/sell worried.. He is having one solid year all considering and if he can improve that will put him in a very small class of players in a couple years.
And the shipped hasn't passed. But it's hilarious how people are saying that. I guess that's quite common here though. Just like Trout and how his ship passed when he got sent back down. Anyone who basically says anything has no clue. It's all speculation. It's your decision and whatever you choose should be what YOU want to do.

If Bryant hadn't lit up spring, people would have a much more positive spin on his cards. His season is actually pretty good for a rookie.

I realize this, I already knew my move (packing them up for grading, and putting them up during the playoffs)- was just curious on what others were doing...

People know the hobby well. Bryant could hit 40 homers next year, and the interest will never be as high as it was in June. We have seen it with many before. People move on, and this will be the same case with Bryant.

Except you forget it's the Cubs. They haven't done anything in 100 years. So a deep playoff run or a few good post seasons will make everything Cubs explode especially considering their market is huge. But we shall see. It has nothing to do with people moving on. Yes everyone moves on in some breathe at some point but also return... Trout, Harper, Goldy.. The interest isn't there this moment obviously as prices dipped but a rookie with those expectations is hard to come by and even more so hard to live up to. Doesn't mean people have moved on completely. Maybe you. Yes. Maybe others. No.
And your statement isn't even solid logic or can be backed up completely.. Harper and Trout were the exact same. People still say can Trout climb any higher, is it time to sell. Blah blah blah. I guess they moved on from them. Oh wait they came back to them.... Wow interesting
It's hilarious less than a year and a solid one people jump ship or say the interest won't be there. There are annomolies and it's hard to say if he will be one or not.. Only time will tell.

sell - i should add that i REALLY don't like the cubs and i am not a fan of him. i have pulled a few cards of his from various packs (nothing big - stadium club, topps chrome, and bowman 2015 scouts i believe). for not being #'d cards they sold quickly and at market price.

Hold at the moment, wait for playoffs or ROY spike if either happen. If not sell spring training next year. Really depends on what you are into them though if you were buying in June then you probably don't want to sell now because of loss.

Buy if anything, Cubs are PO bound, if Bryant does well, his prices should explode (ESPN will feast), if he kills it and leads the Cubs to a world series, I could see $1500 per base. It would be crazy, and it probably won't happen but still.

If they do get to the WS and could win and he plays a big part in it I could see his 13 Chrome prices get back to $400-600 range. We shall see.

I really can't see them ever being more than what they were during spring training.

Or the cubs go on a losing streak, the Giants claim the second wild card spot, and there is no playoff story.

Yeah but that's not what that card would normally go for. It went for $250 for a reason, the card was acknowledged as being trimmed....

Yes the Cubs are playoff bound technically... but it's a 1-game playoff on the road against the 2nd best team in the NL.
That means they have about a 60% chance of not progressing into an actual series, which means no chance for Bryant to get hot, and more importantly no real window of time to try to sell at inflated prices.
Ask yourself what a reasonable season would be for him in 2016... Let's be optimistic and say .280/35/100. Does that get his prices above where they are now? They're still pretty high. And of course you have to factor in the chance that he hits .240/25/80.
IF the Cubs get to the Series and IF Bryant is playing at a superstar level, they will approach and possibly surpass 2015 ST pricing. But this requires a lot of things to all go right. What happens if the far more likely scenario unfolds -- the Cubs are good for a few years, and get to WC/DS/CS at some point in the next 5 years, and Bryant is a good but not superstar player, perhaps along the lines of 2015 Anthony Rizzo?

i would say he was a sell in spring training but now a hold and a buy right now. To say his sail has shipped is an understatement. His pink ref from Topps chrome are doing $35 consistently

Oh, if Bryant leads the Cubs to the WS, the world will end. ESPN will have a field day, a rookie will have broken the curse! Think about the Bumgarner spike last year. Around $25 jumped to $150. Bryant's already a bigger name than Bumgarner was, he's rookie, in a bigger market, and then there's the curse.
Or the cubs go on a losing streak, the Giants claim the second wild card spot, and there is no playoff story.
Way more likely
