Correa, and it isn't anywhere close. Lindor has shown some flashed at the plate, but will not be in the same ballpark is Mr. Correa at the dish.

Lindor may be better in the field, but Correa has 5 tools. It's like a poor man's Vizquel vs. a poor man's A-Rod.

Chalk up another one in the Correa column as I watch him blast his 16th homer of the year... Playing in Houston will definitely help pad HR numbers, but he has power to all fields once he figures out ML pitching he'll be scary good

No matter who you pick, they both have sparked their teams. It's fun watching kids like them get fired up after they score a run, or hit a home run. Every teams needs a guy like these two

Can't go wrong with either, but give me Lindor. I'll take the gold glover over the power hitter. I'm probably biased though.

Have you seen Correa play defense? I'll take the power hitter with the gold glove.
I'm biased too.

Lindor has a potential to be an all-time great defensive SS. He is already a top SS in the league, along with with Correa. However, I see Correa making the switch over to 3rd to due his size in a couple years.

Yes....and there's really not a question who is a better defensive shortstop. It would be like me arguing that Lindor is a better power hitter.

I'll go with Correa - both will probably be very good players but Correa has the potential to be a great player.
Correa can be the next A-Rod before all the steroid / PED talk came out while Lindor could be the next Jimmy Rollins [pretty good career].

I think Lindor is so much better then people give him credit for, all I have heard his entire career up to this point is he wont hit and at every single stop he has. I wouldn't be surprised if he puts up Jeter like numbers with better defense.

Posting this for education. Seriously. I know nothing of defensive stats and such. Can someone explain the following to me?

Lindor is amazing...not sure any RC can touch his talent.

Anyone who claims it isn't close hasn't watched Lindor play. Correa will put up bigger power numbers, Lindor will hit for higher average and score more runs in the long run. Lindor is a #2 hitter, Correa is probably a #3. Lindor is a bit better defensively but both are tremendous at SS. It'll be a close battle for AL SS in the All-Star game for years to come! They're both great young players, that's for sure.

lol, what are you basing this on? Fielding percentage and range factor? Give me a break. Get out of here with your arrogant "posting for education. Seriously" comment. You make yourself look foolish.
Here's some stats for you: (Lindor/Correa)
Defensive Runs Saved: 7/0
UZR/150: 14.6/-5.5
DEF: 8.7/1.2
RngR: 0.4/-1.5

I laugh at these posts because people make comments with only basing their opinion on who has the hot name etc. This is pretty cut in dry.
Correa is the better overall hitter
Lindor is the better defensive player.
Lindor can and has produced better average and will probably score more runs. Correa has the power and XBH and RBi potential. Lindor excels on the defensive side and its not close.
Who would you take? I think has to be based on your teams makeup. If you need some pop in the lineup than take Correa if already have the mashers take Lindor.
Both are amazing.

Well for me personally, I wouldn't care how many mashers I got, I would never pass up on somebody who just has that look of a potential all time great..I realize it's pre-mature, but that's just how I see Correa at the moment...I've seen Correa make some freaking amazing defensive plays to go along with his frame, power, maturity, etc. at the age of 20...It's an absolute no brainer for me, really!!!

I think it's hard to make a wrong choice at this point, both are fantastic young players. I've been lucky enough to see Lindor play everyday for most of the last two years, so I'm obviously biased (and I've not seen enough of Correa to be able to compare).
Lindor is a Gold Glove caliber shortstop (as in, literally should be in contention this year despite half a season) with what I would call a solidly above average bat for the position. Correa is solidly above average defensively (based on defensive metrics) with a tremendous bat. Two different, yet incredibly talented young shortstops that could finally bring some talent back to the position in the AL!

I think at this point I'd have to take Lindor. I think Lindor finishes above Correa in the ROY voting. I assume Sano will win the award. He has essentially the same batting average, HR and RBIs as Correa despite having 100 less at bats.

Certainly fun to watch both, reminds me a bit of the Jeter vs Nomar from the early 90's. Question is will either of these guys be the next Jeter or will they both turn in to Nomar's? Either way, I'll be watching them both!
