Every Friday at King's Inn they have a small card show. Small place but some nice cards.

Good to know. I'll check that out.

The only places I know of are CJ's in Poway (used to be in Allied Gardens), a place in Downtown I can't remember the name (I think it's near Broadway and 6th) and All Star Cards in Santee. Will have to check out PJ's in Chula Vista, never heard of it before.

I was wondering about this weekly show. I live 3 hours north, is it worth traveling to it? How many tables do they normally run? And how much is the admission? Sorry bout all the questions, but I've been itchin to get to a show. Thanks.

Been awhile since I went to that show. It's always advertised in the Beckett Show Calendar. Usually 20 tables with a majority being the same sellers. Many of those are also doing the Frank and Sons show in City of Industry. They used to have a monthly auto guest (usually a Charger or Padres guy). It's a small show.

Now, with that said, more than a couple of the folks who set up there are SERIOUS collectors who break a LOT of stuff (at least they have really high-end singles) and had new stuff each time I went.

So, I would say this.....3 hours is a LONG drive to that show. However, if you plan do spend a weekend in SD, make a plan to stop by. You'd probably find something you like. Also, I'd imagine it's probably pretty easy to rent a table there and set up to sell. Might consider that too.

Hope this helps a little. I'm in Carlsbad/Oceanside area, so it's not too far for me.

Thanks for the intel, I might just take a trip out there to check it out. Maybe I'll get a table sometime, I really need to thin out my collection a little.

I'm pretty sure that CJ's in Poway just went out of business :(

Still 3 shops left, that I know of. Downtown, Santee, and Chula Vista

If you would like to try something instead of a shop, try attending Free Baseball Card Show every Friday night from 4-9pm at the Kings Inn in Mission Valley. The show is in a meeting room in the back of the Hotel. Check with the desk. There is usually 5-6 dealers there. You can bring cards to sell and there are cards and boxes to buy. Try it. I'll be there _Gary

PJs and All-Star are both great. Both stock all new product at great prices. All-Star has a way bigger shop and sells more product so most likely to find what you need weeks after release. They just opened the new extension to the 52 East into Lakeside, so now its a breeze getting there. :)!

I was just at Clairemont Sportscard on Saturday. First time there. The owner (and his wife) were both REALLY nice. Offered my daughter cookies and pop while I looked around. Small shop, but filled with vintage-present singles. Decent selection of wax. A bit overpriced, but (as stated above) if you buy a box, they offer a 10% discount on whatever else you buy. Singles prices are high on some items as they are displayed on consignment and the owner doesn't have much wiggle-room on price. All in all, I'd say it's worth the visit, if not just to meet the two owners.

Glad you liked it. Say hi to them if you go back (I'm Wes). Not sure if they remember my name but they'd remember my face!
