Someone finally snatched up the 1/1 Shield RPA for 25,000 points, and it looks like the Gold RPA's /25 are now gone as well. I'm glad I grabbed a couple /99's in my last order. I don't anticipate them lasting too much longer.

That's an amazing card, but the fact it's not put in the actual boxes that people pay a ridiculous amount for is kind of sad. But great pick up nonetheless. That is a big boy card right now.

Thanks, I figured it was worth a shot based on what the NT shield went for last night. Based on the current points market you can pick up the /99 for around $50 which is a great buy. I will play by the rules though and only picked up the max of 5 per person.

That was a great pickup. You are definitely a baller. Just remember not to put all five up for auction at the same time. That happened with the Moncriefs and it killed the value. Before last night 1500 for the /99 was not a great deal but after last night that seems like a steal. Hyde Contenders will probably spike faster, but Immaculates could be a $200 card if he balls like that over the never few weeks. San Fran has a HUGE fan base.

I'll buy my Jamaal Charles Contenders (just picking a Top 5 RB that has been one for a while) and keep $20 in my pocket

Again I preface all this buy saying I think Hyde is a beast. I love watching him play. I think he's going to be incredibly good.

That being said? Buying any RB, especially a "hot" RB, is flat out crazy talk.

^ I mean I agree with you and its too late for me cause all the Hyde Immaculates are gone, I don't know of any RB other than AP, Barry Sanders, or Walter Payton. Maybe Emmitt Smith could sneak in there. I mean I think Leveon Bell stuff is holding still, but I guess it all depends on HOW LONG they hold value. I mean its a blessing when running back can hold value for 2 seasons hahaha, but I don't think that means that people won't want to buy that RB during a hot season, Muscle Hamster is a prime example of that. Oh and Eddie Lacy didn't do bad either...I think the smartest time to buy RB's is in the beginning of the season, ride the wave, and then SELL SELL SELL. Marshawn Lynch in a Seahawks Jersey seems to hold value as well.

Lol, coulda sworn I read the guy picked up that immaculate shield 1/1 for the equivalent of $500 worth of points, which many people were saying seemed outrageously high before the season started.

^yeah we're aware but everybody flips at peaks, at least everyone that's smart, how many legendary players come along. Nowadays its really hard to keep ANY player for longer than a year or two and not lose money. I mean unless its a player that is going be legendary.

Anthony Davis is a good example, he could keep going up in price if he takes Lebron's or KD's place in the league, but then again he could come down a little like KD has. There are only some players that are "bulletproof" at this time. I think most people on this forum are aware that RB's have much smaller windows. It is absolutely absurd for that member to make such a subjective comment based upon a generalization of the members on this forum.

Who is to say that people that are buying up Hyde off ebay(like one of the members mentioned in this thread), are not just going off load them in the midseason or during the ESPN hype (refer to Doug Martin). Sure, there are going to be people that buy Hyde and hold onto them, and I hope they are Niners fans. But, for those that think Hyde will be an all time back, well there is such a tiny chance in that. I think it would be unitelligent for anyone to keep a Hyde card longer than this season, if it is purely to make a profitable gain.

I think it sounds like sour grapes and whiney myself. He even finishes with a sarcastic " carry on and god bless". Who cares what people choose to do with their own money. This happens in the hobby for every player if they have a good game. Somehow because its a running back its worse? It's a hobby. People get so caught up with how long should they keep a card. Most the times its people that don't collect. If you are using cardboard as an investment then you are probably not good with money anyways

^ you had me until that whole part about if you invest in cards you're not good with money, it's really no different than taking a risk in other ventures, obviously there are riskier and less riskier. I don't invest in cardboard YET, but some people do and are damn good at it.
