I know that these are notorious for having been trimmed and it looks like there is an awful lot of space between the top of the card and the inside of the case.

In my opinion there's no way it should be that far away from the edge of the mag. I don't know much about 2000 contenders so someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

It sure looks to be.

I agree with the two above me. That seems way too small for a legit non-cut card.

Yes, extremely. There should never be that much gap on either side. Top to bottom looks absolutely horrid. I'm thinking that's the reason why they took pics at angles to try and mask it, but it's still way too obvious.

Finding a raw Brady Contenders that hasn't been altered is rare. I have sent many to BGS and all but one have come back trimmed.

Well, doesn't eBays return policy extend to 180 days? So if you bought it, sent it in for grading, and it came back altered, couldn't you return it INAD?

Only one can assume this card has already seen Newport Beach or Dallas. Not saying the seller is aware but lets be honest....its a Brady Contenders.
And no eBay doesnt have 180 days but PP does.

Could be wrong but this sure looks like a Brady contenders auto that was sold couple months ago. It was in a bgs holder marked "altered"
I try to keep an eye out for any Brady contenders that hit the bay.
Even if it's no the same , which I think it is , definitely looks short on top.
Guess there's a chance it's just the picture or angle but I'd stay away

I think the seller doesn't know it's altered considering he bites at the term "great for grading" in the description. But.....there are a few slabs in his store but that doesn't mean they were self submitted. At the same time this looks short also ( 400993775388 ) and how often do you see a PWCC auction non-PSA?
Could just be the angle?

Lower left corner looks a little funny. Unless you pack pulled it, I wouldn't trust it. If you see a raw Brady Contenders on eBay, 99.9% of them have been trimmed.

what is the benefit of trimming a card like this made in 2000?

Makes the condition look better for selling.
People who don't know any better will pay higher value for a nicer condition. The farther this card gets away from the release, the more of them get graded and the more of them get trimmed if they have condition issues.
Graders shouldn't grade a trimmed card and it will come back as "altered".

If you put it on a credit card you would have 120 days and fall under "Fraudulent Merchant Activities"

On cards like these that chip very easily? A lot.
