Sixty years of football designs are getting blown up. 2015 Topps Football 60th Anniversary Oversized cards take the existing insert set and make it bigger — both in dimensions and with its checklist.
The main 100-card insert set, which creates new cards using old designs, has been broken up into four separate online exclusives on the Topps website (http://www.topps.com/artwork/sets/football-60th-anniversary.html?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Sports%209_16%20Topps%20Football%2060th&utm_term=All%20Sports%20and%20Auction). Each set has 25 cards and costs $49.99. Each set is numbered to 99 copies.
For $249.99, collectors can get a full set of the 100 cards plus ten additional rookies. These bonus cards weren’t part of the original 2015 Topps Football (http://www.beckett.com/search/?term=2015%2Btopps%2Bfootball&year_start=2015&sport=185224&brand=186425&page=1) inserts. Only 25 complete sets with the bonus cards have been produced.
These versions measure 5″ x 7″ and are printed on glossy stock.

I am going to assume the investment part was sarcasm.

No, actually it wasn't.

Think about it--there are only 25 sets made that include the rookies and only 99 sets made overall.

With the market flooded with 1000's of RPA's of every player and multi-colored patches of every player and even multi-colored game used patches of guys who have been retired 20 years (how is this even possible?), I think niche products like these will have some staying power over the years.

I would tend to agree if these were not over sized at 5 X 7.

When will they understand that they could be printing money if they just made these (and all other similar offerings) as regular sized cards? I haven't met a collector who likes oversized OR undersized cards - just make some cool, limited sets, sell them, and ship em out in time and they will have plenty of spending money to fix their CS!

Well, I do agree that if they were normal sized cards it would be better. Not to mention that, in theory, they could make the price $199/set since they'd be much cheaper & easier to produce.

A complete set of oversized base cards for $250 and its only 110 cards. Minus the Rookies.. it should be worth about $25 in 5 years

That's what etopps was. And they butchered the h*ll out of that, in large part because of that unbelievably crappy CS.
