Is this a SPORTS CARD forum, or what?

I've been popping into this forum for quite some time but only recently started posting myself, and I am always amazed that people's maildays seem to be the one of the least viewed, least responded to types of posts. I mean, a recent spam post got more responses than most people's mailday posts. COME ON! There is something wrong with that.

And why do people feel the need to say "I don't post maildays often"? This IS a sports card forum...right? No apologies. No shame. Man, I want to see everything from base to 1/1's, stars to scrubs...all of it. There is more to collecting than 1/1's and high end items.

Anyway, I'll climb off my short soapbox and invite you to post the cards that you love, no matter how rare or how common. Show them all off right here.

Oh...and because this is a sports card forum I expect NO LESS than 10 smart aleck and sarcastic remarks. Let 'er fly!

Gotta disagree about not "showing off", many of us love looking at other peoples collections, whether they are high dollar or low dollar. Just fun to look at other people who enjoy the hobby and what they are collecting. I look at almost all threads that include peoples collections. If you don't want to show off, no worries. If you have a problem with others showing off, that's your problem.

a-you paid too much
b-nice card but I got this(topper mentality)
c- oh man that is off center, fake, or damaged.
d- I noticed you collect this guy here are the cards I have for sale and post cards in your thread
e- Panini sucks

People can not control themselves.

I used to be more enthusiastic about maildays, now I am over it. I like cards a lot, but I feel like a lot of folks on here don't.

Some may take a different position towards this and say they are sharing additions to their collection that they are happy about...

Some may also appreciate when fellow collectors share these additions.

I agree with the op - i love seeing people's collections and what they are adding. A lot of the high dollar stuff is interesting, but I love the obscure or forgotten about sets that are amazing, particularly when you start seeing them together.

The other threads are fine as people can choose to participate in whatever they like. I however skim for threads posting cards and collections.

Honestly, my favorite sets are the Platinum Xfractor sets... I've been building from 2011-2014. I like them because they look cool, the cards are pretty minty, and there's only 50 cards to complete the set. Debating whether I want to work backwards and start building like 2010, 2009, etc., etc., etc.

I agree it is always nice to see others mail days, but as the op stated they are usually the least viewed ones. So I can see why people would stop posting them as it might seem like a waste of time and people don't care. When I was collecting and would post mail days I kind of felt that way. I know they're off topic threads and stuff like that, but you'd think a sports card forum would have more posts related to mail days, discussions of releases and more stuff like that, rather than what this board usually has. Either way I'll continue to visit as its still a good place to come and kill some time at work or in general.

I agree. Maildays are my favorite part of the site. Mainly what I come here for. I like seeing stuff I didn't know existed or getting ideas for new sets to start on which is why I also post maildays for the people who like that kind of stuff.

But as stated above, drama/attention seekers rule the net.

There's only a small percentage of the population that cares about sports cards in the first place, so I think it's nuts that anybody on a sports card website isn't interested in seeing what other people have got. Before I joined, I would check BO to see cool stuff, and in the spirit of that, I share what I get in sometimes too.

If endless mail day threads is a huge problem (which I don't think it is - very easy to skip over a thread you don't care to read), why not add a monthly mail day thread like they have in the baseball forum: http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/baseball/915267-september-pickups-thread-post-em-up.html

It confines mail days to a single thread, so it's easier for those not interested to avoid, while funneling more eyes to everybody's cool new stuff.
