Per the Nats' twitter. This is in addition to his other three game suspension from the Orioles game.

In other words, his season is over.

Odd suspension....Are they really going to let him back for the final 3 games of the season??

Three games for Machado beaning, if that doesn't drag into next year.

Now this is a good idea.

Nats fans say they'll donate to charity if team cuts Jonathan Papelbon | CSN Mid-Atlantic (http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/baseball-washington-nationals/talk/jonathan-papelbon-bryce-harper-nats-fans-say-theyll-donate-if-team-cuts-closer?p=ya5nbcs&ocid=yahoo)

Lol, it was nice to see Philly rough him up the other night!

Glad to know it wasn't just us that thought he was a bad dude.

The fact he's still on the roster is a joke. And Harper out of the lineup today. Going for an MVP..if this guy sits him all week...its fantasy championship week too. I always disliked Papelbon, now he's in the all time top 5, maybe #1.

I don't think he or Williams will be in a Nats uniform for spring training.

I'll donate too. And I'm a Cubs fan.

Did they not pick up his option for next year? If I were the Nationals he would never again wear a team uniform but I wouldn't release him either, he has value and I would trade him.

However, Williams would have been fired last night before he could have even got back to the hotel. He is really trying to say that he never saw that fight occur even though he was sitting in the very same dugout? Really? The guy has zero control of the team and even less credibility.

According to Baseball-Reference.com he is signed with the Nationals for $11,000,000 in 2016 and is not available for free agency until 2017.

I see a love fest in Spring Training between him and Harper.

If the Nats cut Papelbon they still owe him 11 mill next year lol. Nice investment.

he has no value, hence it was almost impossible for the Phillies to trade him in the first place. i'd just cut him and eat the money. it's addition by subtraction when dealing with him.

No. They can find him in material breach of the conduct policy and terminate the contract. Considering that he attacked another player, I don't think the union will fight too hard for him.

Assuming there is a conduct policy.

The contract was written with the Phillies. We've got a rough city.

Washington needed some to protect Harper, not fight him.

Don't blame the city for Ruben Amaro Jr. having a speed limit IQ.
